  1. I guess this would be the time for me to howl and rage, curse and cry murder at E and DFV for “running” one of our bloggers off the site. But I have more class, personal restraint, and just plain maturity than that. Beast you will be sorely missed by myself and certain others. Please keep in touch with me.

  2. uhhh, yeah but then someone would have to tell me what I did.

You see Dave, you actually deleted stuff. I reported and reposted a comment that was discussed. Damien hasn’t been on here for a month so I fail to see how he has run someone off. LOL. What children! But this part is rich:
But I have more class, personal restraint, and just plain maturity than that.

waaah! you said something bad about me so I’m leaving

LOL!! Love the maturity! Hey Beast, I’m not posting much anyway. Why wouldn’t you stay?

    • As for “deleting stuff” damn right I did. It didn’t belong on here whatsoever. Anyone can see that. Nothing could have been more obvious. This is not a forum to just trash other people for the hell of it just because we can. I won’t put up with it. And I never have. And I wouldn’t have stood around and let anyone else on here be treated so poorly either by someone who should know better and how to conduct himself as an adult. Expecting a fellow Conclubber to at least show a shred of dignity towards another has been the standard all along. I guess that’s been thrown out the window along with any honest attempts to make this a decent and respectable blog. The two go hand in hand by the way in case you don’t get that either.

The only “children” here are those who are boycotting the blog because they are mad that their friend quit the blog. At least I’m not screaming and cussing about it. That’s the “personal restraint and maturity part.” But don’t get too mad just yet, I’m entitled to it I guess because a blogger I like is leaving. At least that was the rational offered to me a few weeks ago. You all laughed when I suggest we have minimum standards of how we treat each others. The last four weeks are the result when that is rejected, mocked and not followed. PGW deserved everything he “got” and then some because he shows no decency and respect for others, and then this posting namecalling of one who is reality is a guest in our happy little home has caused him to leave as well. Though I know he was disgusted by what transpired before as I was. This was the last straw for him and I don’t blame him one bit. You guys just don’t get it do you?

  3. WTF? Seriously this is getting out of hand now.

  4. What happened? (If I might ask…)

    • Read the Conclub meeting minutes on the main page. Right or wrong, that was the final straw I guess for the Beast. I like you Sting and I’m sorry about all of this. Personal vendettas put ahead of the common good is guaranteed to kill a blog. Conclub has been a great place for many years, but differing views on how we interact with each other is pulling it apart and where and how we vent our differences is killing it. It’s a sad thing to see. I’m already in mourning for it. No one listens to me. I predicted all of this, but such words fall on deaf ears. You have to put the blog first when it comes to your interactions with others, but alas, such an ideal is seemingly beyond many. We’ll have to see what happens next. It will be interesting to see.

Hosea 4: 6 (KJV) My people perish from a lack of knowledge.

  5. As per Dave’s pleading requests, I have put my responses in private emails, even though he has continued to snipe away in public. But you deserve an answer, Sting.

The answer is right before your eyes. Every single thing that sent Dave and Beast into such apoplexy is right here on this blog. These words, typed on this page. You’ve already read the things they found so inflammatory, now you can decide for yourself whther their reactions were reasonable or an hysterical overreaction. And if you’re having trouble finding the horrible things they have referenced, you’re not alone.

    • I told Dave when joining up that one of the things I enjoyed most about the blog was the civility of its members on both sides of the argument. It’s really a shame to see people getting upset or offended to the point of leaving.

One of the things that I really enjoyed was getting to hear viewpoints that were different from my own – on several occasions I have been challenged and feel as though I have grown from my interactions here.

And believe it or not, I miss hearing from Wes, PG, E, and yes, (God help us) even Phooey in the comments area, although I think his leaving may have been my fault with the Australia jab. (just kidding…)

I hope you guys can come to some sort of peace and reconcile. I will continue to be around, posting nonsense and random thoughts, but I will truly miss the Beast’s comments on them, as well as the others.

      • It was exactly as you describe it when I first joined. What happened? Here’s a clue. After I joined, the next new member was PG. I thought he was just another loud conservative voice tipping the balance, but over time, I learned he was just loud and conservative. Then came Beast. Then, Thom and Drowning Creek were added because, as Ron Paul supporters, they were supposed to balance things again. Yeah, that’s right. Then Mo. (I probably have the order a bit wrong, but I don’t quite remember) Now you’re here, and by what I can tell, you’re a nice chap, but the see-saw is so weighted down on the right side that nobody can reach the left side even if they wanted to. And here I am stuck up in the air.

I’m not blaming anyone for this, since I am also responsible in part. I didn’t bring anyone here. I didn’t write much after a few months. Would that have made a difference? That’s possible, I suppose, but it never made much difference when I did. To extend the metaphor, you can only try so hard to push the seesaw down when everyone else is having a good time sitting still. So you push harder and harder, but then you knock someone off and everyone gets upset. Eventually you start to realize that perhaps you’d have more fun over on the swingset.

    • If we can all agree to end this right this second, count me in. As far as I was concerned this should have ended a month ago. If it will please him, I will gladly bow to the wisdom of the Scribe and cease any and all references to said incident immediately as long as we all do. I would love nothing more than to move on. I’ve wanted nothing else. This was blown tremendously out of proportion and if time is finally allowing everyone to have some reasonable perspective on everything then I couldn’t be happier.

  6. during this past election i became completely hooked on the different views and ideas that were presented on this blog.

some i agreed with, some i definitely did not.

unfortunately the last four weeks have turned into some kind of hissy fit in-fighting that has both sides being wounded by the most ridiculous of comments. this really needs to be figured out and some ground rules established…no reason to get on the person because you disagree with their ideas.

please figure it out…if not i have to find another site to peruse during my downtime.
