Tit for Tat

Here you go guys. These are a little more representative on the whole.

This Erkle one is kinda funny.

  1. E: “…I made a logical claim based on evidence. Now if our resident attorney has something other than circumstantial or anecdotal evidence based on nutjobs from Michigan, I’m ready to see it!”

I would ask that the above photographs be admitted into evidence as plaintiff’s exhibit A.

  2. :)

Objection your honor. I stated if the “resident attorney has something.” Since PG is not an attorney this evidence is clearly inadmissable.

  3. But did you see GuruSteve in the Texas shirt talking to the media about his sign. I wonder if he understands that “niggar” is not really a word and niggardliness is what we need a little more of in government?

  4. Ah, hoping to use the Exclusionary Rule to keep it out, I see. Well, seeing as how PG posted it on the website, I believe the Plain View exception would apply.

  5. I like the Erkle, Homey don’t play that, and unarmed [this time] ones… The Hamas sign is all too true.

There are exceptions to every rule. I’ve been to two different (admittedly somewhat smaller) TEA party/9-12 rallies and I never saw a single objectionable sign. Unless the word “socialist” or Obamacare is considered controversial. I’m always armed with my trusty First Navy Jack, Don’t Tread On Me flag on a nine foot wooden staff which serves as both flag and sign, and is equally useful at virtually anything from an anti-gun control rally to a TEA party protest. Tonight I actually ordered a new one from ebay since my old one is starting to wear out.
    First Navy Jack
I also ordered a new flag that is just emerging in the TEA party movement.
    Minuteman inspired TEA party flag
Basically a Culpepper Minuteman flag but with the top scroll removed and the colors reversed. Or if you want to call it a pirate version of the Gadsden flag with the Liberty or Death motto added you can. It’s officially called a ‘black tactical flag’ whatever that is supposed to mean. I should do a post on TEA party symbols, flags and symbolism just for fun. If you follow flag color meaning this would technically be an anarcho-patriot flag because it is black but that was not the intention here of the designer. My favorite Gadsden flag is one I don’t own and never will.
    Based on the Anarcho-Capitalist flag:
    Anarcho-Capitalist flag
And this is the Don’t Tread On Me version. Dang I really like how that looks…
Anarcho-Capitalist Don't Tread On Me Flag
(sorry, couldn’t find a larger version)

  6. Here’s more pictures so that we can better understand what we are talking about:

The always fun, but somewhat controversial, Obama as the joker sign

    (He’s really not)

    lol

So let’s be honest. The so-called TEA Party is hundreds of thousands of individuals in thousands of different and independent groups, each making and responsible for their own signs. To try and smear them all for the “over-exuberance” of some is not really fair and ignores the whole point of the entire movement. Really a red herring issue as far as I am concerned. This is designed to be a leaderless movement (that’s a big deal in the movement and is by design) and is a bottom up, not a top down movement. It’s not even an organization. It has no formal membership roles, titles, or elected offices (though some local independent groups do). Most groups are little more than email lists and if you show up, you show up. The 9-12 groups are loosely governed by the 9 principles and 12 values and the actual TEA party groups don’t even have that. The constitution is considered the true governing document of the movement. How can you try to really group something together that is really and truly thousands of different pieces, individuals, and organizations? The vast majority of TEA Party attendees are basically the neighbor next door who cares about his country. And I have no problem with that. I’ve talked to them and I’ve met them. I’ve attended their rallies and I attended a couple of their meetings. Just regular people who aren’t putting up with it anymore. Good for them, they’ve finally had enough.

  7. The entire point of this discussion has been lost in the dizzying array of comments across two different posts, sometimes using the reply button and getting stuck in the middle, and sometimes not.

My original point was NOT to group the tea partiers or anyone else. My point was that you CAN”T talk about them as a unified group, and I made this quite clear. It was all in response to E suggesting that protestors could be put into exactly two groups: conservative/good and liberal/bad. Somehow in the discussion, Dave has come to believe that I am smearing him and Mo and tea party protestors in general, when an accurate reading of my comments reveals something not even close to that.

It’s increasingly frustrating to have to repeat my previous comments because people have either forgotten them or are intentionally distorting them. Not everything I write on here calls for a response of waving the bloody shirt and bursting into The Battle Hymn of the Republic. Sometimes, an honest discussion would be preferable.

    • There is not a comment in this post that can be connected to what you just said. If you would like me to serenade the next conclub conclave with the The Battle Hymn of the Republic I would be glad to do so. And my bloody shirt has since been washed.

    • If anything, it is PGW who seems to have a significant problem with the TEA party types in general.

      • How silly.

No, Dave, just some of the extremists that show up to the rallies. I am quite sure that they are a small number. You continue to misstate my position. I ask you to quit doing it. I also ask you to quit telling me “things must stop”.

I am going out of town. You can continue this if you want.

I take comfort in the fact that my positions have been clearly written down. I hope they stay that way. This is my thread, so I trust this will stay up at least.

      • They shall remain untouched.

  8. The statement in this post that this is representative of the whole (the pics) shows that the author is either misinformed or being dishonest. Perhaps he could enlighten us as to which it it. The pictures in the post are not representative of the whole.

  9. Is it to late for a simple “objection your honor”?

  10. HAHAHAHAHA. Those signs are so stupid it makes me pee my pants. How is Obama a socialist, exactly? I’m sorry, but saving capitalism from itself isn’t socialist. Forcing Americans to buy health insurance from PRIVATE, FOR-PROFIT insurers is not socialist.

I could go on about why capitalism and the state are the real reasons for our lack of liberty, but I don’t have time, so read this instead:
