“HOPE AND CHANGE” PROTEST GAINS MOMENTUM ACROSS THE COUNTRY
Tens of thousands of ordinary
Americans are joining in a silent protest against Barack Obama by placing sticky notes on gas pumps, grocery shelves, and anywhere else that will get your attention.
Clever, huh? Simple too. That’s what makes it so ingenious; it’s not destructive, it’s cheap, and anyone can do it.
The campaign’s Facebook page has over 65,000 friends, as is growing by leaps and bounds. The protest has gone viral, and is getting run on various other sites as well. Good ol’ grassroots politics.
So here’s the deal:
Grab a pad of large sticky notes and a Sharpie. Write “How’s that Hope & Change working out for you?” Every time you fill up your car, put your sticky note on the pump before you drive away. Make sure you place the note somewhere that doesn’t cover the pump’s digital readout, or cause the next customer to have to remove your sticky to operate the pump. Grocery store shelves sound like a great opportunity as well.
Keep it clean! Unlike the vitriolic protests we’ve seen from the left, this is a great opportunity to display a little civility.

Anyone wanna bet whether the left will soon begin a sticky note campaign of its own? Rat bets it won’t be quite so civil.

Great Campaign!

To bad the sticker campaign is about instant gratification and not actual long term lifestyle change. I am no Obama fan, but to claim its somehow his fault that oil prices are high are to ignore commodities markets, unrest in oil regions, and an understanding that even if we drill in Alaska most of that oil is being pumped by an INTERNATIONAL company that will be sending a bulk of the oil to state of the art processing and refinery plants dotting the Russian and Chinese coastline.
Its campaigns like these are reflect our nation’s need to do something right away without little understanding that what it is that causes the problems. The notes SHOULD read: “If you think this is bad, imagine what it’ll cost when its peak oil prices at $150 a barrel we should be looking for alternatives to our crack like addiction to oil rather than live in a society demanding low tech 1900s technology.”
Sad thing is, bunch of folks here probably think I am some sort of liberal or something for even daring to suggest to both A) find a solution and B) sack up and quit blaming people for your own problems.
Richard–You’re ignoring those federal and state taxes that hype the price of each gallon of gas. In fact, the profit for Exxon on a gallon of gas is 6 cents.

Richard Stewart,
It’s time to spit out the Kool-Aid. It IS indeed Obama’s fault. He WANTS energy prices to be high, and he has admitted it. He just doesn’t want anybody tying it all back to him and holding him accountable at the polling place.

A weakening faith in the dollar around the world — based in large part on the perception that this government is not serious about getting its fiscal house in order does indeed impact the price we pay for oil.
Are high gas prices exclusively Obama’s fault? Of course not.
Is his drunken-sailor spending – err – sorry, “investing” a large part of the problem? This is where it’s time to spit out the Kool Aid and do a little objective research; of course it it. Wise up.
Why didn’t you mention in your story how putting notes or advertising on private property without consent is illegal, and so is littering when they fall off and potentially vandalism as well? I know its just a misdemeanor but so is shoplifting. Should we start a shoplifting campaign against liberal companies?
Oh sure, now our liberal friends are suddenly all ‘law and order.’ Please. I’m sure the occasional sticky note at the gas pump is the least of the concerning activities taking place at the corner convenience store.
If our President would stop giving money to other countries so they can drill for oil in the Gulf, and let us build oil refineries in our own country, then we wouldn’t have to depend on foriegn oil. There’s enough oil and gas just in North Dakota to keep us going for years. You can thank liberals for our current situation and Obama just happens to be the President at the moment and he IS a left wing nut liberal. But let me guess, the libs will still try to find a way to blame Bush.
