Things do take off fast these days! A few days ago, the entire movement consisted of a Riverside County politician, Jeff Stone, who seemed to need publicity. Now there’s a facebook page. But call me Ebeneezer; I’m “Bah! Humbug!” on this one until signs of big bucks appear…
Anyway, if I recall, the last shot at succession ended with the industrialists taking over the losers who tried and failed to secede and handing most of their assets off as spoils. Lots of hope’n'change down the tubes back then, too!
ha! this wil probably fail. but the point is: people are truly getting sick of liberal spending, taxation and social justice. This is just the beginning of a HUGE wave. I predict that today
Yeah, a lot of people are unhappy, especially those lacking a pay check. And flyover country is holding Tea Party training increasingly.
But the populous coast dependencies are put off by all that; they want more of the hair of the dog, not less or so it seems to me…California just put Moonbeam back in charge, right? And NY just married the gays,
I really worry about the wave it will take to reverse that tide…I’m damn well gonna keep a wet suit handy!
Jack. Marriage Coach once asked me to go into politics. This was at the time I posted the “Suffer with me” article. I was hurting. I never knew they did that to babies. I did some research. NO ONE WANTS this to happen. And yet. yet. it goes on. That is when I knew that this government was broken beyond repair. What can one person do? IMPOSSIBLE!
As a management consultant- in my past life- I learned very quickly that adjusting the money flow was the key to fixing most problems. This problem is simple: MONEY. Stop the money. But therein lies the rub. Both parties think and believe to the depths of their souls that they need it. (in the dark recesses of their brains, they WANT it.) I have no doubt that I would be sabotaged by my own party if ever I ran for office.
Because my first act would be to end the money flow. I would create a new tax: The Presidential Election Tax. Every citizen would pay 4 dollars. Every one of us. Rich & poor alike. If you don’t give the four bucks, you don’t vote. That would be the sum total of the money split between the two candidates when they ran for office. The media would be requested to hold mandatory debates between the candidates. If a candidate refused to debate, they would be disqualified automatically. There would be NO LOBBY GROUPS in Washington politics. Political action committees would be disbanded. No company, no union, no anybody could give money to either the DNP or the GOP. If any elected official is found to have ANY ties to these types of privately funded political groups, they will automatically lose office. You can’t stop people’s freedom of speech, of course. And different people would run different ads. But the politician would owe them NOTHING.
Simple as pie. The solution always is. Would save a lot of bloodshed too. But when is MAN ever wise?
Each state would collect a similar mandatory tax for their state elections. Same with each city.
This would be worth EVERY penny to the tax payers to ensure that each person counts as much as the other when elections are considered. Until the money is stopped, revolution is the only way.
I have no doubt that I would get assassinated very quickly- by my own guys.
