Marco Rubio is a Stud

FLORIDA SENATOR HANDLES LIBERALS WITH POISE AND CONFIDENCE

- Are Republican members of Congress that bad at articulating conservative positions and philosophies, or is forty-year-old Florida Senator Marco Rubio that good? Um – it’s both.

Not since the days of the Great Communicator has the Republican Party had a point man with the communication skills of Marco Rubio. Obama may be the best speechifier on the planet when it comes to reading poll-driven speeches (dutifully written by others) from his trusty teleprompter, but our “eloquent” president couldn’t carry Marco’s jockstrap when it comes to effectively communicating with the American people in a meaningful way.

Rubio responds confidently, concisely, and convincingly to questions – while Obama gives rambling, I-love-to-hear-myself-talk answers, which often include revisionist-history-on-the-fly material when he gets caught reneging on a campaign promise, failing to achieve previously-set goals or objectives, or pettily sniping at Republican “enemies”.

As a guest on Face the Nation a couple of weeks ago, Rubio destroyed Bob Schieffer. It wasn’t even a fair fight; Marco carved up every one of Schieffer’s liberal gotcha-questions with ease and unflappable poise. (As he did in an appearance during the 2010 campaign)

I’m pretty sure ol’ sock-puppet Bob won’t be asking Marco Rubio back anytime soon.

Brutal, huh? Schieffer looks like a punch-drunk fighter who stubbornly continues to get back in the ring with the same guy who beat his ass to a pulp the last 12 times. Too funny.

While talk of Rubio for President is a cycle or two premature, if he doesn’t end up as the vice presidential candidate on the ticket next year, the Republican Party needs serious therapy. Can you imagine Joe Biden getting into the ring with Marco Rubio? DAMN.

You should see Sen. Rubio’s speech in the Senate on July 30, 2011. He even managed to shut up John Kerry.

  2. That he is… Definitely a presidential contender in the near future. Good to have some good new blood rising at the national level.
