The Captain goes down with his ship! Well, they once did, at least for those who’ve seenn “The Titanic.” The captain and his crew kept order and worked to save as many as they could; women and children first, of course. Not only did everyone expect it; they did it. And even on the Costa Crociere an elderly Frenchman gave his wife his life jacket, saving her at cost of his life. A passenger from another time… Now though, time has passed and its clear things have changed: Forget: ‘Women and Children First’ provides an idea of just how much. If Italian cruise ships are indicative, it’s now: ‘Captain first, crew big enough to shove passengers out of the way, next. We shouldn’t be surprised.
Feminism has dissed men in favor of women and convenience abortion has devalued children. Family bonds have been devalued too. Men, no longer respected as protectors, are no longer ready to make the sacrifices that accompany the position. And people who discard inconvenient children at will before birth obviously don’t see them as the precious jewels of yore. Duh!
Social values evolved over ages aren’t tossed without a price; the civil society we are evolving has very different values than did its predecessor. That is producing very different patterns of behavior, some which we have just seen illustrated by the multiple failures of the Costa…which is only a beginning.

Hi Jack,
I visited the site you referenced and my hair stood on end. When I first read your article, I felt myself protesting. I thought, “Sure, the captain was a coward, but Jack’s condemning society for it.” I didn’t hear about the activities on board while the panic ensued. It is just shameful- feminism is a poison that deceives men and women alike. It has led to the ruin of romantic relationships, marriage and proper parenting. When I say, “feminism”, I do not refer to our civil right to be equal under the law. Today’s feminism has absolutely nothing to do with legality. It is self hatred- plain and simple. It teaches young women to hate their femininity in favor of a futile attempt to be something we are not (nor should we wish to be)- men. It instills a sense of competition and resentment against men and encourages young women to view men as ‘the enemy’ at the same time as it denies women their natural advantages (sex appeal, charm, beauty and overall sway over men). It leads to failure and unhappiness for both sexes.
Did you read the Comments on that article? It was just sad to see the resentment of men and women. Sad, sad, sad. The Progressives are rubbing their greedy, dirty little hands together over this one…
Yes. Politics of gender, race, culture, sex preferences or any other method of differentiating among people ALWAYS distort reality, leading inevitably to destruction, not benefit. The politicians will always conflate equality of outcomes with equality of rights so as to have something to reward supporters and buy more of them, seems to me.
