Atheist

So what are the problems the atheists have with Christianity?

After reading Dawkins, Stenger, Harris and others, I think I may know.  They would have you think that these intelligent, educated, learned men are convinced that “religion” has seduced men though out history to do evil, murderous acts against other men.  Since science indicates there is evidence of religion among early humans before written history, it appears one could say that man has always been religious. If humans have always been religious since evidence of early human society indicates, could Hawkins find a gene for religion in the mischievous selfish genes?  Of course not he is an ethnologist and evolution biologist, but he did find altruism resting among all those proteins.

Here in lies the dilemma, a subjective concept causing men to do hideous acts.  I would agree with the atheist that perhaps Islam does do this because the Koran* teaches its followers are to kill those who are non-believers if they reject Allah. The Hebrew religion appears to frown on murder but at times it promotes killing in battle and perhaps in other circumstances.  I have not yet been able to find in the Christian writings that a Christian is to kill. In the New Testament I found that not only is a Christian to not kill but to love his enemies.  A strange concept practiced if killing is the goal.  Perhaps, atheist should try it.

I hear the murmurs already.  What about the crusades? What about the inquisition?  It would be logical to think that for a pope, bishop, priest, elder, deacon or other position of authority in the hierarchy of Christianity to order killing in the name of the God of Christianity would be a total rejection of the teachings of Jesus, the Christ.  Yet, it happened.  If a person is driving down the street decides runs a stop sign hitting another car in side and killing a person in that car, that person running the stop sign disobeyed the law resulting in a killing meant to be prevented by the law.  It would appear the pope, bishop or whatever authority proclaiming to be Christian by telling Christians to kill, break the law Christ gave.

The atheist does not have this dilemma since he has no higher authority than himself.  Therefore he can do as he wishes, to kill or not to kill others.  The only solution he has against killing is to agree to a contract he makes with others not kill. This contract could be called governmental law.  Even governmental laws against killing will not keep a person from killing another person. Even knowing in advance that killing another person will result your death will not keep a human from killing another human.  When someone in the atheist community kills, that person breaks the agreed law.  Surely there must be a law of some type to prevent man killing man.  But, alas, there is none.

The atrocities in the name of religion are not the real reason atheist attack religion; the atheist also promote no restrictions on sex, lifestyles, marriage, or family.  These are attacks against the traditional culture of the U. S which is based on Christian principles.  The question becomes who else has this agenda? It would seem the atheist Marx and Engels did.  It would appear the Marxist inRussia did in 1917.  The Frankfurt School at ColumbiaUniversity developed these same Marxist goals in the 1930’s.  The Marxists are noted for embracing any group which will enhance the Marxist political system in taking control of a government. Could one say atheists are in bed with the Marxist?  But, we all know that what happens in the bedroom stays in the bedroom, or is that Reno?

Well, the dirty linen is finally getting exposed to sunshine.  It’s going to be hung out on the line for all the neighbors to see.  The Secular Coilition of America is having training sessions to prepared atheist to lobby Congress.  Of course their first work is to lobby for the health law mandate making relgion accept contraception and abortion.   Who would have thought that would be the first thing they would work on?

My question is, “Are they really just against religion or just another part of the Marxist political system?”  If their answer is the first part of the question given, you know they are lying.  They have no law against lying, beside they to are only human.

  1. A non-believer in Christian rules wants out from under them, freeing him from constraint and providing total license to do as he pleases, as this post emphasizes. Having achieved that, one might expect the non-believer to be satisfied and leave the Christians to follow their rules if they wished so long as he isn’t bound. One might also expect a Christian to allow the same freedom to the non-believer, only limited in each case by denying acts damaging to another.

But human history tells another story: Whoever has been in power, has imposed his rules onto everybody he could reach, be he Christian, non-believer or uncommitted. Seems to me, we’re seeing a historical power shift from believers to non-believers in setting the rules for social conduct. For the first time, a U.S. government has publicly attacked a major church, thereby attacking the Constitution (which explicitly forbids that) at the same time.

This looks like it may be the chasm our civil order will disappear into as the failing economy dissolves the glue that used to stabilize it…we can hope for a little less blood this time…

  2. You right, the reason purpose atheist attack religion is to remove religion from any influence in the political system. Perhaps they are not Marxist but they want the same thing. The want science and reason to be the basis of the political system, according to Victor Stenger. It is an ideological fight for political control.

  3. Atheist are against Christianity because mostly because of what they would have to give up if they embraced it. They are not open to any convincing argument. It usually takes some ver serious life experience that changes their mind.

I have always been amazed about the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead, John 11:39 – 53. Jesus calls Lazarus by name and after he has been dead 3 days, out come Lazarus. Now I dont know about anyone else, but if I saw some guy raise the dead, I would be trying to get on his good side and would probably believe about anything he said. But the rulers and priest of Israel were more concerned about their own positions. in verse 53, it says “Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.” Go figure. I mean it doesn’t say they disputed Jesus raising the dead, they just didn’t care.

That is insane and shows that the were not objective people. Nothing Jesus did could make them embrace him or even contemplate that he might be who he said he is. He threatened their positions. Same with atheists, among other things, they intuitively think they will have to give up something. A part of their will that allows them to do and say anything they want, and they cannot embrace that.
