“We Will Not Tolerate Any Attack” – The NRA takes a stand against the UN Gun Ban Treaty

The United Nations will vote on this ‘arms trade’ treaty on July 27 and it has been causing quite a bit of consternation among certain groups. Now I can’t say for sure that this is part of some grand gun-grabbing scheme but one  has to examine the motives and agenda of the people and organizations backing these types of moves. And by doing so, we must view this push for more gun control with serious suspicion.

Inevitably, such a treaty will result in more restrictions and government registration and tracking of private firearms as the US simply attempts to ‘be in compliance’ and makes sure arms aren’t crossing over the border illegally.

There seems to be some validity to the idea that the horrendously failed and downright murderous “Operation Fast and Furious” was a tactic designed by the Obama administration to create some supporting evidence and a possible rallying point in the press and the public that such treaties are necessary to stop the cross-border trafficking of firearms that help fuel conflicts including the carnage south of the border. The web of deceit, lies, and potential coverup is there and nobody knows how deep it goes or how complicated it is except for those engaging in it. That such devious and deadly tactics were used in attempt to bring about support for this treaty ought to give every reasonable person pause as to the wisdom of the treaty itself.

As a conservative, a ”man of the Right”, and liberty loving American I believe the United Nations is worthless at best and a body that often and repeatedly leads to the erosion of national sovereignty and the inherent rights that I have as an American citizen. Is this just my own humble opinion? Yes. But it is also shared by many of those who have worked intimately with the UN body and observed it first hand.

The administration is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about international arms trade between nation states, but there’s no doubt – as was the case back over a decade ago – that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control. After the treaty is approved and it comes into force, you will find out that it … requires the Congress to adopt some measure that restricts ownership of firearms. The administration knows it cannot obtain this kind of legislation purely in a domestic context. … They will use an international agreement as an excuse to get domestically what they couldn’t otherwise.” - former US ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton

Wayne LaPierre, Executive Vice-President and CEO of the National Rifle Association has taken up the challenge to oppose the UN Gun Ban Treaty and did so forcefully as an NGO speaker before the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty Conference. In a powerful speech he laid down the gauntlet and proclaimed that American gun owners will defend their God-given rights and oppose any UN sponsored attempts to enforce gun control in the United States. Simply put, good for him.

It is generally feared that if this treaty is  passed by the UN and signed by the US the UN “Small Arms Treaty” would almost certainly force the United States to:

*** Enact tougher licensing requirements, making law-abiding citizens cut through even more bureaucratic red tape just to own a firearm legally

*** CONFISCATE and DESTROY ALL supposed “unauthorized” civilian firearms

*** BAN the trade, sale and private ownership of all semi-automatic weapons

*** Create an INTERNATIONAL gun registry, setting the stage for full-scale gun confiscation.

You can reach your Senator at 202-225-3121 to ask them to oppose this latest attempt at gun-grabbing. Your rights should not be subject to the whims and agendas of others.

  1. Reblogged this on nebraskaenergyobserver and commented:

“Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man gainst his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American…. [T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.” (Tench Coxe, The Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788.)

Personally, I think the UN has long since outlived its usefulness, if it ever had any. Defund, Evict, and Withdraw.

  2. Lets see if I have this straight: The guy who allowed OVER 2,000 weapons to be sold to DRUG CARTELS and made sure they crossed the border, SO THAT OVER 200 MEXICAN CITIZENS AND 2 BORDER AGENTS GOT KILLED, IS NOW SIGNING A TREATY THAT WOULD MAKE SURE HE COULDNT DO IT AGAIN?!?!?!

  3. The US is really a tool for globalists, if you believe in that sort of thing. One of the Rockefellers donated the land for the building in Manhattan. I don’t particularly believe in most uses of eminent domain, but for the county, city or state of New York to take that building by eminent domain would be SA-WEEET.

  4. A point that merits attention if my understanding is correct will be the legal hierarchy resulting vis-a-vis the Second Amendment vs any treaty-based succeeding legislation. I’ve an impression from somewhere that a treaty in force trumps Constitutional provisions countervening it; it will be nice to be assured that’s not so…

    • It merits a lot of attention. My understanding is the opposite BUT, I am decidedly not willing to bet on it, particularly for these stakes and with this administration.

    • I admit I haven’t researched it but my recall is that there is a provision in the Constitution where no treaty that violates the principles of the Constitution supercede it. However, like any other bad “law” if the Constitution is not enforced it becomes a moot point, so to speak.

      • Article 6 of the Constitution says: “This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.”

So, if i am reading this correctly, a treaty made by the federal government will trump the Constitution and become the Law of the Land when it is contrary to the Constitution.

      • I can read that either way, the government can only make treaties under the Constitution, federal law and treaties trump state laws but, in any case I wouldn’t trust the government to read it that way.

  5. I do agree with you about the UN, they have never done anything that is worth receiving credit. They are using the authority they have now to try to take away the rights that we have as Americans, like so often before. We must keep one thing in mind though, that this is part of the One world government trying to infillitrate our rights. Great post and enjoyed it very much.

  6. Anybody else here think obama and his socialist friends should be charged with treason?

  7. They will not take our guns away, I don’t care what kind of treaty they sign, they will have to pry it from my dead hands.
