TOP AGENTS SAY REGIME FORCING THEM TO IGNORE THEIR DUTIES
So now it’s come to this. It wasn’t good enough for the Regime to stop at pitting American against American. Nope, now, O has managed to accomplish something even better: pitting top immigration agents of the Department of Homeland Security against their boss, Janet Napolitano – and the Regime itself, by extension.
Way to go, O; I wouldn’t have expected anything less – nor more – of you. Not to mention the mockery you’ve made of the U.S. justice system. (Although, you did the same thing when you directed Eric “My People” Holder to stop defending the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act, didn’t you?)
Via Fox News:
Ten federal immigration agents have filed suit against Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, claiming recent directives are forcing them to break the law and ignore their duties when it comes to deporting illegal immigrants.
The suit was filed Thursday in Texas federal court by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials. It challenges recent directives allowing some illegal immigrants – particularly non-felons and those who came to the U.S. as children – to remain in the U.S. (illegally), and, in some cases, get work permits. (And this positively affects the 8.3% unemployment rate how?)
The suit, obtained by Fox News, says the agents are being forced to “violate federal law.” It claims the new directive “unconstitutionally usurps and encroaches upon the legislative powers of Congress.” ICE Director John Morton is also named as a defendant.
Kris Kobach, lead attorney on the case, equated the move to give thousands of illegal immigrants a reprieve to the failed Fast and Furious gun-walking operation:
“In both instances, the Obama administration ordered federal law enforcement agents to break the law, to ignore the laws that they’re supposed to enforce, and, in the case of the ICE agents, to actually break federal laws that say you’re supposed to deport certain people. And in each case, the Obama administration seems to be doing so for political reasons.”
Ya think, Kris? The “political reasons” part, I mean? Hell yes, he ordered the law to be broken for political reasons. Why else would he do so? Other than by “virtue” of the Democrats’ faux compassion for minorities, I mean. (See: 50 years of the disintegration of the urban black family, courtesy of the Democratic Party.)
Here’s Homeland Security spokesman Matt Chandler, not only reacting to the suit but attempting to defend the Regime’s directive:
“DHS uses prosecutorial discretion to assist in focusing vigorously on the removal of individuals who are convicted criminals, repeat immigration law violators, and recent border crossers. “This policy is a temporary measure; Congress must still act to provide a permanent solution to fix the broken immigration system.”
Far be it from me to be cynical, but let’s dissect Chandler’s comments. Interesting that he would use both the words “discretion” and “vigorously” in the same sentence in his failed attempt to defend DHS’s “enforcement” of federal immigration law, isn’t it? How does one enforce a law “vigorously” – with “discretion”? And, as has been a disturbing pattern with the Regime, our pal Matt gives a couched non-answer to the question – in defense of O’s directive – by listing “real criminals” who, supposedly, are still being deported: convicted criminals, repeat immigration law violators and recent border-crossers.
Memo to Matt: Illegal aliens who entered the U.S. illegally - regardless of when they did so – committed a crime. Breaking the law is breaking the law. And, by analogy, you’re suggesting that illegals who break federal immigration law are somehow less guilt than those who commit “more serious” crimes. Guess you got us on the whole “convicted” thing though, huh?
And, which is also a disturbing pattern, O has not only (once again) ignored the U.S. Constitution, Congress and existing federal law, he had the cojones to blame having done so on the Republican-controlled House. His logic goes something like this:
“I didn’t want to violate federal law, but when Congress failed to do what I wanted it to do, I had no choice.”
Here’s Napolitano’s lame excuse for ignoring the law:
“These policies promote the efficient use of our resources ensuring that we do not divert them away from the removal of convicted criminals by pursuing the removal of young people who came to this country as children and who have called no other country home.”
Two disingenuous political peas in a pod. I love poor old Janet’s false argument: Somehow, arresting illegals because they are illegal reduces DHS’s ability to “remove” the really bad guys. It’s like saying: “We don’t have the resources to arrest armed robbers and those charged with battery and assault, so we only go after the murderers. Spare us the violin music, Janet. Regardless of whether they “came to this country as children,” or later in life, they violated federal law.
Besides, you could always ask O to stop flushing hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars down the “green energy” toilet and come up with adequate “resources” to protect America’s borders. (Better wait till after the election though.)

Hey The Rat, Great post. I especially like your breakdown of Chandler’s defense of Nappy’s illegal, unconstitutional, anti-American dereliction of her duty as Secretary of Homeland Security.
I too have posted on this subject. However, as an Arizonan I’ve been enduring this radical lib’s prosecutorial deception since I moved here in 2005, My angle is more personal. Check it out : http://tinyurl.com/8bmt54q
Thanks! Will check out your site.
Oh, the oxy-moronic-ness of it all. Inspires me to vigorously decry the disgrace of it all–with discretion, of course.
Oh, for Heaven’s sake. Build the fence already with a moat full of alligators and lit to kingdom come. This is getting ridiculous to the 10th degree.
As is the entirety of the boy king’s reign, CL.
A government that selectively enforces law at the King’s whim? Where did I read about that earlier in my life?
If you previously mereeprisentsd any facts on your permanent resident application (whether intentionally or by mistake), you should consult with an immigration attorney before you submit your naturalization application. Depending on the specific facts of your situation, any misrepresentation on your permanent resident application potentially could have very serious immigration consequences and could result in your being placed in removal proceedings. Therefore, I strongly recommend that you discuss your case in detail with an immigration attorney before you take any action on your naturalization application.
