For all of his “qualities” – hypocrisy, disingenuousness, divisiveness, pettiness and bitterness – it’s a safe bet that when the final chapter of the Obama Regime is written, the community organizer from Chicago will be best remembered for his stubborn insistence on governing based solely on ideology.

When Barack Obama assumed the presidency in 2008, the economy was a mess. The housing industry was a disaster. Democrats had control of both Houses of Congress. The new president and his party could’ve passed virtually any and all legislation they chose to pass. Yet, what did O do? He focused his efforts primarily on ObamaCare. He continued his non-stop campaign for a government takeover of the health care industry. Political capital was wasted – never to be recovered – and the partisan tone was set for the rest of his presidency.

Obama chose to ignore economic realities in his rush to divide and conquer – all under the banner of socialist ideology. His pledge to “work with the other side” and “reach across the aisle” was cast aside like so many other hollow campaign “promises.” All that mattered to O was sticking it to “the rich” and making America “fair.”

And of course, the dirty little not-so-secret reality about ObamaCare is that it’s far more about wealth redistribution than about health care. A quick look at the new tax and fee schedules proves the point – and it will only become more apparent in 2014 and beyond. Mission accomplished by the community organizer.

And now, as the economy and the country’s financial house remain in a mess, the Campaigner-in-Chief is about to repeat history. Rather than focus on serious negotiations with the Republicans over debt reduction, entitlement reform and restructuring the tax code, O’s firing up the campaign machine again – this time to go after the NRA. The Obama administration puzzled many observers by leaving its campaign infrastructure largely in place in the aftermath of President Obama’s re-election win. Now we know why. According to Stephanie Cutter, President Obama’s former deputy campaign manager on Ed Schultz’s MSNBC program:

 “President Obama’s network across this country – grassroots individuals who organized and volunteered their time to get the president reelected are much more powerful than the NRA lobby. And I think that you can expect to see that network activated, very soon. And for good reason.”

Stephanie Cutter’s words should frighten Americans accustomed to the usual ins-and-outs of politics. Unlike prior presidents, who leveraged their campaigns into power, then got down to the business of governing, Obama is running a permanent campaign intended to destroy his political opposition completely. Therein lies the deceitful beauty of Barack Obama; not only is he driven principally by ideology vs. pragmatism, the bitter political hack part of him is just as determined to destroy any and all people, parties, groups and “Jewish countries” with which he disagrees.

While only 4% of Americans consider gun control to be the most important issue facing the country, the ideologically-driven Mr. Obama sees it differently: nothing is more important than going after the guns. (P.S. As has been the case with any number of other O’s sideshows, this one is also designed to deflect attention from the real issues that concern most Americans.)

Never mind that many experts agree that O’s proposals would do nothing to prevent Sandy Hook-type massacres. (Ironically, although far from an expert, Michael Bloomberg admitted this yesterday.)

Never mind that his proposals would impede the ability of innocent private citizens to defend themselves against criminal assailants.

Never mind the untold cases of innocent victims successfully defending themselves with firearms.

Never mind the fact that military-style “assault” rifles are used in less than one tenth of one percent of gun crimes – and that the vast majority of murders in the United States are committed with handguns.

Never mind that the Supreme Court has reaffirmed (several times in recent years) the right of citizens to bear arms – not just for self-defense purposes, but as a fallback-defense against a tyrannical government, as well.

For those of you opposed to a complete ban on private gun ownership, but are still jumping on the Obama “Prevention of Gun Violence” Express because you believe that “assault” weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines should be banned, consider the following:

More than 500 people were murdered in Chicago in 2012; in excess of 100 of them were children. Most were killed with handguns. While basic handguns are used in the vast majority of gun murders every year, “assault” weapons account for less than one tenth of one percent of gun-related killings.

Yet, O is not seeking a ban on handguns. Why not?

Logic dictates one of two reasons: a: O is simply acting out of political expediency vs. logic, reason and facts, or, b: this is simply step one of his ultimate objective of banning all privately-owned guns.

In either case, are you sure you wanna jump on that bandwagon?

So, now the Obama campaign begins anew – oh, wait – continues undeterred. The only thing that’s changed is O has new a boogeyman. (Actually, it’s an old boogeyman that the not-to-be-wasted Sandy Hook crisis provided an opportunity for resurrection.)

And hey, what better target for O than the boogeyman? After all, its definition is “an imaginary monster used to frighten children.”

Oh, and the boogeyman scares the hell out of low-information adults, too.
