Garofalo: Racists Paying Herman Cain to Run for President?

LEFT-WING WACKO REPRESENTS THE WORST OF LIBERAL GROUPTHINK

I would not normally waste my time writing about someone as insignificant as Janeane Garofalo - much less whatever she thinks about anything. However, I couldn’t resist the temptation this time; her latest pathetic theory represents the worst of left-wing faux-intellectualism; it is indicative of how far into the gutter liberalism in America has fallen.

I’m not saying our pal Janeane is nuts – but she makes Bill Maher look rational. Hell, she makes Sheila Jackson Lee look like a race-baiting novice. Al Sharpton couldn’t carry her jockstrap…

Gentle Americans, It Is Time To Become A Big Mouth

Gentle Americans, It Is Time To Become A Big Mouth

My friends.  I’m calling on all good & normal Americans to pay attention now.  Things have gone too far.  Our government has left us while we were working so hard to take care of our responsibilities at home.  Our government has taken a life of its own- it no longer responds to our wishes.  The usurpation of our natural ownership of Government has so deceitfully taken place while our eyes were bent to the plow.  Our trust has been violated.  No one wants the Government to continue spending our tax money with so much abandon- leaving a debt our children can never pay.  No one wants the killing of 24 week old fetuses- or worse, the destruction of full term babies through partial birth abortion.  No one wants the indoctrination of our children through our schools & universities.  No one wants the crushing of  the right to freedom of religious speech.  No one wants Obamacare.  No one wants our Government to continue forcing us to use expensive products we don’t want to use- as is the case with these new green vehicles and electicity that only they can afford.  No one wants more war in the Middle East.  No one wants our country to police the other countries.. Call to Ban Bible Under Pakistan’s Elastic Blasphemy Laws

Nina Shea posts on the evil circus that is Pakistan. Simpletons from the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam now consider the Holy Bible to be a pornographic blasphemy, threatening to punish people who own one. We should pull out of Pakistan, finish whatever business we have in the area, and be done with them. There will come a day when the monstrous mullahs infesting the country will pay for their hideous behavior against Christians and others. Until that day comes, it is best to let them stew in their own juices.

Violence in America: On the Precipice

The Egyptian Military Takes Sides. Not Ours.

Those who were pessimistic about the role Egypt’s military played in the Cairo uprising can now feel justified.  The Egyptian Military just allowed the Muslim Brotherhood to allow extremist cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi back into the country. Qaradawi is a noted intellectual inside of Al-Ikhwān, as the Muslim Brotherhood is known in Egypt. That the military have provided a guard for this cretin’s return shows that they are not on the side of democracy, but will be part of aiding the development of a new Islamist state. Woe to Miṣr. Parental Guidance Suggested

If you haven’t read the headlines lately, but are the parents of young kids (especially daughters) you already know that Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” is out.  Far be it for me to ruin this blog by even mentioning the Bieb, and I expect my name shall disappear from the masthead forthwith, but it sparked a conversation at the homestead about the fine line of responsibility parents have between being the friend or parent.  Suffice it to say, the comment was made that “It’s tough, because I want to be the cool parent but feel like this is one of those areas where I need to be the concerned parent.”  Of course my response was “that’s fine – you can be the cool one, but not me.  I want to be the one that when the kid is out with my daughter he stops several times throughout the evening and thinks ‘dude, that guy is psycho’.” Read the rest of this entry

The Egyptian Unrest: A Special Report

STRATFOR provides its usual excellent analysis on what is happening in Egypt. Though I rarely side with Zazu or Andre on anything (except perhaps music), they are right to point out that we have supported trash in order for them to hold off even worse trash. That has to end. We do need to support dissident groups who are more amenable to American concerns. Here is another concern: Hamas is able to cross the border from the Palestinian Territories into Egypt pretty much unhindered thanks to the chaos ensuing at the moment. This means they are wilfully trying to help the Muslim Brotherhood take over the reins of power in Egypt. If they do, that will almost assuredly mean war in the Middle East, and if that happens, it’ll spread out quickly throughout the Maghred, the Arabian Peninsula, and possibly into Turkey and Southern Europe. Attach that with the headaches in Chechnya, and you have a recipe for a very hot summer, war-wise.

Quote of the (Present) Day

At some point – and I say this to you with all the passion I possibly can – the West has got to get out of what I think is this wretched policy, or posture, of apology for believing that we are causing what the Iranians are doing, or what these extremists are doing. The fact is we are not.The fact is they are doing it because they disagree fundamentally with our way of life and they will carry on doing it unless they are met with the requisite determination and, if necessary, force.

–Tony Blair

Dave’s Quote of the Day

“The kind of rhetoric that flows from people like Rush Limbaugh, in my judgment he is irresponsible, uses partial information, sometimes wrong information. [Limbaugh] attacks people, angers them against government, angers them against elected officials and that kind of behavior in my opinion is not without consequences.

The vitriol affects the [unstable] personality that we are talking about. You can say, ‘Oh no, it doesn’t,’ but my opinion is that it does.”

The progressive “climate of hate:” An illustrated primer, 2000-2010

Can you believe our progressive friends were stupid enough to bring up “violent rhetoric” in politics? Do they think we haven’t been paying attention to their despicable actions over the last decade? Good grief, that’s pretty much all they know how to do and what they practiced virtually non stop for eight years against President Bush and now for about three against Sarah Palin.

The hypocrisy of the Left in the face of tragedy

The absolute hatred that spewed forth from the Left for eight long years during the Bush administration can’t even be touched by anything the Right has come forth with in the last two. The Left is awash with hypocrisy if they attempt to lecture conservatives on “toning down the rhetoric.” Such silliness would be sad if it wasn’t so devious and underhanded. Liberals threw out polite political discourse many years ago so I guess we were just all stunned to hear them suddenly clamoring for such a thing this morning. What a shock that they suddenly had a Paul-on-the-road-to-Damascus moment.

Playing the blame game with the Arizona shootings

I’ll be very honest. Conservatives have a low regard for liberals because of the types of comments as we have seen over the last 24 hours in regards to the tragedy in Arizona. This was a tragedy totally outside the realm of cheap political potshots. When the gutter-licking Left tries to turn tragedies like this into some sort of anti-Palin, anti-Fox News, anti-Limbaugh and Beck, or anti-Tea Party (or whatever) political statement we should all be extremely disgusted at such pathetic attempts to smear an opponent with the blood of real people and real victims. And frankly, shame on all those who are acting this way today. Disgusting, uncalled for, a devious and obvious lie, and very disrespectful for the victims that were injured or killed yesterday. I was saddened to see such references already floating around today. Shame on the Left for engaging in such behavior.

Over-protectionism, or… You really do need a passport to come down here.

Welcome to the deep south.  That’s right.  Where the hospitality flows and nothing is ever negative, it’s just ‘special’, or ‘lovely’.  (“What do you think of this?” … “Oh, isn’t that lovely, dear.”)

Being the parent of three extremely extroverted kids, I often find myself struggling with the idea of being over-protective.  Yes, that’s right, I’m the one who won’t let the kids go out and play in the street unsupervised even though my parents did it.  I’m the one who makes sure that they are strapped into the all but bulletproof car seats in the safest cars with the bulletproof glass and tinted windows.  I’m the one who won’t let the kids get into the back of the truck to ride down to the pond even though I recall falling out of the truck several times as a kid.  (“Mom, I fell out of granddad’s truck on the way to the pond. It hurt.”  “Oh, isn’t that lovely, dear?”)

Most days I endure the comments.  “Oh, I understand why you won’t let your kids come over to spend the night. It’s fine, no really.. it’s lovely.”

Then there are days where I come to work and my colleague says “hey did you hear about..”, and suddenly I am justified.  Yes, welcome to the deep south, where rolling just isn’t how they roll anymore.

Proud Socialists March at Left-Wing Protest in DC

You have to wonder how the press would react if Mein Kamf was openly sold at Tea Party rallies and the Ku Klux Klan (the real one, not the soccer moms who doesn’t cheerlead Obamacare) marched around in full regalia and were fully accepted by the other rally participants. Perhaps a few books peddled with Mussolini on the front cover. They would have the biggest collective temper tantrum the world has ever seen. Yet the Left’s exact version of what I just hypothesized about happened just a matter of days ago as the Left attempted to mimic the anger and drive of the Tea Party movement with a little gathering of their own in Washington D.C. The hypocrisy and media bias in such matters, though completely expected, is still staggering. It is nice, though, to see the radical agenda on such open parade for all to see.

A great video showing the vast array of Government workers, socialists, union members, and anti-Israel advocates that were bussed in for the “One Nation” rally can be found here on PJTV.

I know that you’ll love this:

Resistance is justified, when people are occupied!

Oh yeah, baby. Almost kind of catchy. And the tamborine was a nice touch, don’t you think? At a Right-wing rally you might see the Betsy Ross or perhaps a Don’t Tread On Me flag. At a Left-wing rally you might see a red banner or perhaps a hammer and sickle flag. That ought to tell you something about the ideologies involved in this classic struggle for the hearts and minds of the American people. Which side are you on?

Environmentalism, bin Laden style

Cyberwar: Round 1 Goes To The West…

Gregg Keizer and Richi Jennings writing over at Computerworld have noted the negative impact on Iran’s nuclear program of a raging Stuxnet infection. (Perhaps Helena, MT’s progressive superintendent needs to move to Iran where they’re more tolerant of unpopular mandated lessons–but about computer security–not teaching little kids about sex!)

More than a decade ago think tankers began seriously considering cyberwar. (see the Wikipedia entry here.) Sci-fi authors have been bantering about it since the 60s and probably even earlier. One might even go so far as to argue that Orwell’s Big Brother is more akin to the ubiquitous, massively parallel information-based societies of America, Japan, S. Korea, Germany, France, Canada, Great Britain, and many others, including tiny Israel, than to any group of secret human spies. When I was building an Army website in 2005 I suggested the need for a DoD branch dedicated to information security (beyond the charter of the NSA). The Pentagon finally created Cyber Command this May.

Breitbart Forces Obama’s Protesters To Fold Up Shop

Andrew Breitbart has brass ones to go out and confront that crowd alone. He’s a godsend and a true patriot.

On Saturday, September 18th, Glenn Beck and Andrew Breitbart headlined an event entitled “Right Nation 2010,” held just outside of Chicago, Illinois.

As you will see in our video report from the scene, when Andrew Breitbart arrived at the Sears Centre, he was met with an angry mob of protesters who were calling for an ‘end to hate’ while also hurling expletives and homophobic slurs toward the targets of their enmity.

In the following dramatic video, Breitbart brings the protest to a complete halt by cleverly asking sign holders to do the impossible: explain the placards they were carrying. In the end, the frustrated organizers abruptly end their protest and leave.

Constitutionality, Christianity, Progressivism And The Captive Poor

I wrote this in an email the other day and everyone told me to publish it, so here it is with very minimal editing.

We, the people, must recognize that our two major parties have been co-opted at their highest levels. They no longer prove themselves to support the Constitution. Instead they advance agendas that should deeply concern anyone who understands what our constitution says and why.

John Adams once said, “Our constitution is only fit for a moral and religious people. It is wholly unsuited to the governance of any other kind” because the Constitution contained no controls over those who would reject morality and decency in favor of hedonism and self-indulgence. It also contains no controls, talis qualis, that are, or ever would be, strong enough to defeat progressivism which seeks to ignore it (or for that matter Sharia law which would supplant it). Only the vigilance of a stubborn and well-informed citizenry can do that!

Sex Education, Social Engineering, Progressive Politics And The Rainbow Agenda

I personally home schooled my daughter through 7th grade and my son through 6th. She is positioned to be the valedictorian of her school next year and hopes to go into law or medicine. As an 11th grader, she claims to be the ONLY virgin she knows of in her entire high school (of over 1000 students). Her 8th grade brother is an honor student taking both regular and advanced classes despite profound dyslexia. He, too, is proud to be a virgin. Referring to his classmates, he says “most of them” are sexually active. What difference did an abstinence-based (home schooling) curriculum make in their lives? I believe it made all the difference! By far the best place to give children a healthy understanding of the proper role of sex in their lives is in their own homes.

Helena Sex Ed Curriculum (barely) Revised…

Helena, MT (ConClub) – The Helena School District’s feeble attempts to quell widespread public opposition to teaching a gay activist/liberal/progressive sex-ed program beginning in kindergarten and including homosexuality from the outset, represent too little in the way of real, substantive change. Thus, they have categorically failed to impress what turned out to be a small army of local critics here. A well attended meeting hosted by Helena Youth Advocates (HYA), a grassroots organization comprised largely of concerned parents was held at the Public Library this evening. As well as vocal parents, it appeared to include opposition activists, politicians and even one teacher (who wishes to remain anonymous for obvious reasons).

Free Speech, Hate Crimes, Bold Truth and Cunning Lies

WARNING AND DISCLAIMER: This post may make some people angry. The thoughts and comments expressed are mine alone and do not necessarily reflect the consensus opinion at ConstitutionClub.org.

Today USA Today ran, “Is burning Quran a hate crime or a free speech issue?” When Terry Jones’s church decided to burn the Koran, I believe they felt moved to express a bold truth. On the other hand, by “protecting” the Judeo-Christian Bible (even as it denounces, denies and contradicts it), Islam institutionally propagates the craftiest of deceptions. In Eden, the serpent, being more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made, said, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” Did he actually lie? No, he manipulated and deceived Adam and Eve into believing a tiny falsehood about God: That God was withholding his best from them. The Enemy planted and cultivated a subtle fear, feeding the tiniest bit of pride by asking an inflammatory question.

Going further, the successful deceiver next indoctrinates the deceived using a succession of increasingly outlandish lies. This was perhaps best noted by Adolph Hitler who said, “By means of shrewd lies, unremittingly repeated, it is possible to make people believe that heaven is hell and hell heaven. The greater the lie, the more readily it will be believed.” This progression leads to the downfall of nations, cultures and societies. It tends to accelerate most under powerfully charismatic people appealing to our selfish natures. This may be physical gratification, our personal rights, greed, justice, and self-righteousness. It decelerates under successful messages encouraging self-sacrifice and unconditional love.

I, For One, Welcome Our New Pedantocratic Overlords!

Ah! Vindication is sweet. Just eight months after the ClimateGate scandal hit the news, the Global Warming community rolls up the last of three investigations, all of which show nothing untoward occurred. First, the University Of East Anglia, ground zero in the big leak, investigated the University Of East Anglia and determined that nobody did nothing wrong. Then Penn State, home of Hockey Stick Michael Mann, investigated Penn State and found that Penn State was blameless. Now “The Independent Climate Change E-mails Review”, commissioned (and paid for) by – The University of East Anglia – has decided the flap was all a tempest in a tea pot.

Well, that’s a relief!

Now that we’ve swept all the messy scandal stuff under the academic carpet we can get to the real problem: Democracy!

An adult approach to politics.

Political bomb throwing can be fun in a recreational way. Calling each other fascists is entertaining to watch. Claiming the other side is evil and bringing down the American way of life is enjoyable at times too. These things are the political equivalent of Christianity’s altar call or tent revival. They get the juices flowing.

Now for some adult talk from the dude in the wheelchair (I hear they are in fashion these days. All the hip kids have them. One does need to how to accessorize them properly though.)

The rotation of power is the finest political instrument ever invented for the consolidation of what were once radical and deeply divisive policies. The classic example is the New Deal. Republicans railed against it for 20 years. Then Dwight Eisenhower came to power, wisely left it intact, and no serious leader since has called for its repeal.

Similarly, Bill Clinton consolidated Reaganism, just as Tony Blair consolidated Thatcherism. In both cases, center-left moderates brought their party to accept the major premises of the highly successful conservative reforms that preceded them.

This is not to say that the rotation of power is all about consolidation. It’s also about challenge. Obama may have accepted (if grudgingly) much of the post-9/11 anti-terror policy — even the wars — but he’s raised a fundamental challenge to three decades of Reaganite domestic orthodoxy.

This is also to the good. The Reaganite dispensation of low taxes, less regulation and reliance on markets should be challenged lest it become merely rote and dogmatic. Obama has offered a bracingly thorough attack on that dispensation with his unapologetic embrace of a social democratic agenda whose essence — more centralized government exercising its power through radical health care, energy and education reform — is the overthrow of Reaganism.

I’ve made clear what side I take in this debate. I’m encouraged that Obama has been defeated on cap-and-trade and is on the defensive on his health care reform. I’m somewhat more sympathetic but still uneasy about his vision of turning college education into a federal entitlement. But for all the hand-wringing about broken government, partisanship, divisiveness and gridlock, it’s hard to recall a more informed, more detailed, more serious, more prolonged national debate than on health care reform.

True, the rotation of power inevitably results in stops and starts and policy zigzags. Yet for all its inefficiency, it in the end creates a near miraculous social stability by setting down layers of legitimacy every time the opposition adopts some of its predecessor’s reforms — while at the same time allowing challenges to fundamental assumptions before they become fossilized.

So, in the middle of the current food fight, as the plates and the tarts and the sharper cutlery fly, step back for a moment. Hail the untidiness. Hail democracy. Hail the rotation of power. Yes, even when Democrats gain office.

To quote a Progressive Republican president: “BULLY”.  Progressivism is not all bad. Well unless you are in favor of repealing child labor laws and letting old people be neglected.

The more things change. . .

I have always heard that history repeats itself because no one listened the first time around, and today I have found additional evidence to support that claim.  Scroll through some of the Time magazine covers, specifically from 1976-1980 and take a look at the headlines, the people, the concerns of the day.  From socialism to the war on terror – it’s all there in vivid color.  I recommend starting here and moving forward for a really interesting look at, well…  Time.

I can not afford President Obama’s anger. Can you?

I enjoy reading Investor’s Business Daily. Their editorials are always to the point.

How’s That Revenge Working For You, Mr. President?

Since President Obama began a series of proposals to tax big banks and limit their size and activities, wrapped in angry rhetoric, the S&P 500 has tumbled 8%. Bank bashing isn’t the only reason: European debt fears, China’s lending crackdown and broader uncertainty over taxes and other government policies all are playing a role.

However, the recent market sell-off underscores a basic point: Populism may seem like a political necessity, but it’s an economic luxury. If this were a solid, sustainable recovery, bank bashing or other populist rhetoric and proposals probably wouldn’t have a major impact. But recent economic growth is largely the result of government stimulus and inventories stabilizing. There’s a risk, or at least a real fear, that the economy could stall out or even slip back into recession as those temporary factors ebb.

The S&P is down another 1.5% today. BTW, I can’t afford the populism from the right either.

Obama attacks the banks. You have to love this. That is if you are a populist.

Obama versus banks, once again

President Obama again took on big banks today, proposing new regulations that would restrict their size and their ability to make what he called the kinds of risky investments that led to the financial crisis.

“My resolve to reform the system is only strengthened when I see a return to old practices at some of the very (banking) firms fighting reform,” Obama said at a White House event.

I will leave it to you to decide if being a populist is a good thing. On the other hand, I do love this

The Radical Left Reacts to Brown’s victory and Obama’s First Year in Office
