The Stove of Inspiration

I highly recommend delving into the ideas of Australian philosopher David Stove (1927-1994). For me, reading Against the Idols of the Age, an anthology of his work, was a good decision. I received inspiration, not because the book reassured me, as in “don’t worry, everything will work out just fine.” On the contrary, it paints a grim picture of the state of Western intellectual life. Rather, I was inspired because Stove lays bare many of the absurdities—the “idols” of the book’s title—that today pass for sacred, unassailable maxims. He shows that one can unravel the knot of politically correct dogma in which we are entwined, and do it in a clear, commonsense way. Think of it as a housecleaning for the brain, sweeping away cobwebs in various unlikely places. Read the rest of this entry

Dave’s Quote of the Day

“Political Correctness is cultural Marxism. It is Marxism translated from economic into cultural terms. It is an effort that goes back not to the 1960s and the hippies and the peace movement, but back to World War I. If we compare the basic tenets of Political Correctness with classical Marxism the parallels are very obvious.”

Is This Really Incompetence?

One of the most counter-productive notions now circulating through the conservative blogosphere (and elsewhere) is the assertion that “Obama is incompetent.” There are several variants:

  • Obama is stupid, or at least not intelligent
  • He’s in over his head
  • His advisers don’t have a clue
  • The stress is overwhelming him
  • His narcissism has led him down the wrong path
  • If we at least had a smart liberal, such as Hillary Clinton, things wouldn’t be so bad

Etc.

There is an element of truth in each of these claims, but in the scheme of things they constitute nothing more than a fanciful distraction from the ugly reality that is staring us in the face. Read the rest of this entry

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Will Not Die!.

Yes, the debt ceiling talks rage on. We’ll wait until something other than boring Washington-drama happens to write a blog on that subject. Until then, I want to address this idea that an organization can struggle to live just as individuals do. Organizations take on a life of their own. They have a personality and a will to live. People within them can come & go, but the will of the organization remains the same. Our government even gives legal ‘personhood’ to corporations. The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) is the most recent example of this phenomena. Read on…

Mexican Troops Cross Into U.S. Mr. President, Where’s Your Moat?

MEXICO CLAIMS ITS ‘SOLDIERS GOT LOST’

A convoy of three Mexican military trucks loaded with soldiers and weapons entered the United States illegally yesterday, Mr. Obama; where is your moat? Or, as you said in Texas, is this just another example of Republicans overreacting to illegal immigration?

Customs and Border Protection investigators told KGNS-TV they spoke with Mexican authorities after being alerted that the military convoy was heading in their direction.

Those same Mexican officials say the soldiers ”didn’t know the area and got lost” and that “an investigation into the ‘incident’ is continuing.” Uh huh. Just like the beheading in Phoenix, right? Is an “investigation” into that “incident” continuing too?” Or how about the “incident” of the murder of unarmed ICE agents in Mexico? Where are we on the investigation of that “incident”?

Based on the preponderance of “incidents” going on here, Mr. President, perhaps that moat full of alligators idea isn’t so bad after all. Although – come to think of it – maybe the drug lords and the Mexican government can police the border just fine. Never Mind.

Pay attention, Baroness Ashton: ‘Why fewer and fewer Americans take Europe seriously’

European politicians have always been considered something of a joke, and it’s certainly been so the last 60 or so years. For every Churchill or de Gaulle, you have a van Rumpuy or Baroness Ashton who come off looking embarrassing to the eyes of Americans interested enough to eyeball Euro-politics.

The Daily Mail writes more on the embarrassment that is Baroness Ashton here.

You wrestle like a girl

“I have a tremendous amount of respect for Cassy and Megan (Black, the tournament’s other female entrant) and their accomplishments. However, wrestling is a combat sport and it can get violent at times. As a matter of conscience and my faith, I do not believe that it is appropriate for a boy to engage a girl in this manner. It is unfortunate that I have been placed in a situation not seen in most of the high school sports in Iowa.”

That was the statement released by Iowa homeschooler Joel Northrup after giving up his chance for the state title by refusing to wrestle a girl and forfeiting the match. I guess I kind of have to agree with him personally. If I were put in his place I’d be like “are you fricking kidding me?” Now I’m all for wrestling around with girls but generally speaking not in this particular manner. And grabbing some girls crotch and other sensitive areas on a mat surrounded by hundreds of cheering people may be your idea of a good time but would make me feel a bit uncomfortable.

And can you imagine the poor idiot whose life would be forever ruined if he were to in fact really lose to a girl wrestler? Whoever came up with this idea must really hate high school males with psychopathic passion. Some may choose to disagree with me but the endless attempts to erase the differences between genders does grow tiresome. I’d be just as disgusted at any attempts to let a male join an all female volleyball league or pom pom squad. I’m just sayin’.

The Threat of Civil Unrest in Pakistan and the Davis Case

I’m assuming that poor Pakistan, which has been neglected in the world news cycle as of late, has decided it needs to do something to remain relevant and newsworthy. There is a deep-seated hatred of America and much sympathy with the Taliban and its allies in Al Qaeda. A security officer, Raymond Davis, is the current hatred du jour, having killed two men who had tried, unsuccessfully, to rob him. The terrorist group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are demanding that Davis be executed. If the Obama Administration decides not to protect their man in Islamabad, it is my hope that Pakistan be incinerated by a more pro-American regime than the one we’re currently stuck with.

VMI Celebrates Muslim Invasion, Brutal 781-year Occupation of Spain

There are no words…

This is what happens when the cult of “tolerance, diversity, sensitivity, and multiculturalism” begins to capture the military related institutions of this country. They’ve already captured the colleges, entertainment, and the media, and the rest of our societal and cultural institutions are under full-scale assault. We all sneer at political correctness and the ‘isms’ of the Left that accompany it but it is deadly serious struggle we are engaged in. It is gut-wrenching to watch a culture and a people begin to slit their own throats and surrender on all fronts. As conservatives we see these attacks on common sense, our heritage, and our culture coming. We warn against it, rail against it, and predict the eventual outcome of it, but for whatever reason we seem to be helpless to prevent these things from happening. In this never-ending culture war, that the Left has declared and the Right is forced to fight, conservatives are always losing unless they win and liberals are always winning unless they lose. We have traveled that far down a dangerous path that eventually only leads to damnation and ruin.

Progressivism is the most insidious of fifth columns that undermines the traditions and institutions that once made this country great. It is really an amazing thing to watch as one by one the dominoes are toppled as the Left continues to wage its ruthless ideological war on all that is true, right, decent, moral, and rooted in tradition, religion, and Western culture.

VMI Celebrates Muslim Invasion, Brutal 781-year Occupation of Spain

Stonewall Jackson is rolling over in his grave.

Next month his beloved Virginia Military Institute will be convening a celebration commemorating the 1300th anniversary of the invasion and occupation of Spain under the Muslim warlord Tariq ibn Ziyad in 711 A.D. The March 23-25 celebration entitled “711-2011: East Meets West” and organized by VMI’s Center for Leadership and Ethics, is scheduled to feature standard Muslim apologists Reza Aslan and Akbar Ahmed. VMI Superintendent Gen. J.H. Binford Peay has even filmed an invitation to the celebration.

No word if VMI’s World War II commemoration will be entitled “Germany meets Poland, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Belgium, France, Norway, The Netherlands and Russia”.

Event organizers describe the event as follows:

We celebrate the 1300th anniversary of Tariq ibn Ziyad’s crossing of the Straits of Gibraltar, setting into motion the fusion between two worlds. The agenda will tell the vital story of the achievements when Muslims, Christians, and Jews thrived side by side in Western Europe, building a society that lit the Dark Ages. Experts will discuss how to transform education, promote tolerance, political reform, and advance human development so that we can emulate the spirit and triumphs of the early years.

The hypocrisy of the Left in the face of tragedy

The absolute hatred that spewed forth from the Left for eight long years during the Bush administration can’t even be touched by anything the Right has come forth with in the last two. The Left is awash with hypocrisy if they attempt to lecture conservatives on “toning down the rhetoric.” Such silliness would be sad if it wasn’t so devious and underhanded. Liberals threw out polite political discourse many years ago so I guess we were just all stunned to hear them suddenly clamoring for such a thing this morning. What a shock that they suddenly had a Paul-on-the-road-to-Damascus moment.

Quote of the Moment…

And little as I had a right to be remembered by Him whom I had forgotten in the hour of my prosperity, and whom I so tardily invoked, I prayed earnestly and sincerely. This renewal of my youthful faith brought about a much greater amount of calm, and I was enabled to concentrate all my strength and intelligence on the terrible realities of my unprecedented situation.

Ask, Confront & Defend

The repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is a DISGRACE that cannot stand!

The Left hoped that by defining homosexuality as an orientation that cannot be changed, rather than a chosen behavior as has been recognized for millenia, they could exploit the goodwill of the civil rights struggle. Civil rights, like feminism, is a positive philosophy when promulgated by persons of integrity with no hidden agendas. However, those of us who were around in those times, or who study real history, know there were many communists and America-haters therein marching with genuine people of good will. It is not the conservatives with resume credits we hear from today, but Charlie Rangel and Jesse Jackson – those who exploit their past. They are exploiters first, and not those persons of consistent character.

Rep.-Elect Lt. Col. Allen West– a True American Patriot

It’s no secret. I’d vote for Col. West for POTUS in a heartbeat. I’ve been keeping an eye on him as an up-and-comer ever since his CPAC speech.

THIS is the definition of a leader, and one we’ve sorely needed since Reagan. No politically correct B.S. here.

Plus, notice how well-spoken he is. West doesn’t need a teleprompter. He speaks confidently, and from the heart.

Dave’s Quote of the Day

Islamic terrorism is not an open-ended, universal characteristic. Rather, it is a specific, narrowly defined phenomenon. It is fueled by Muslim extremists bent on waging a holy war against the West. Its perpetrators tend to be young adults from the Middle East, North Africa, the Arab world and the Muslim ghettos of Europe. Most jihadists fit this profile. What is needed is not more groping, crotch-grabbing or nude screening, but better intelligence-gathering, random checking and targeted profiling.

Washington insists on perpetrating the illusion that a Christian grandmother in Iowa poses the same possible national security threat as a 19-year-old Yemenite exchange student majoring in Islamic studies. Hence, America is squandering precious resources and manpower, as well as abrogating basic civil liberties and humiliating its population, in order to appease the sensitivities of the Muslim lobby.

The Palin Follies

It looks like people want to see more about Sarah Palin’s personal life. Unfortunately the scandal du jour involves her daughters being baited into an inflammatory Facebook dialogue in which they act like…teens! TMZ is trying to characterize this as homophobia. If you visit their site beware that it tries to take over your browser (go there now). The facebook dialogue sounds so much like a couple of girls from up here in the Rockies that I can barely detect anything but typical teenageness (yep, I made that word up–feel free to use it!).

No, America, Bristol and Willow are not ready to be media consultants. They are ready to go to school. Sadly the kids of a politician are always enrolled in the school of hard knocks when their parent submits a candidate filing.

Vote Republican for the Very First Time

Hey liberals, do you really care about minorities? If so, then why not support those who have recently won (and now more importantly are seeking) leadership positions?

And to minorities (Blacks, Asians, Hispanics, etc), do you honestly think the Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton types truly care whether you succeed or not?

Get real. Dependency is their game, largely because they make money off of it. Money from those they dupe.

And now back to the video. Wow. Star Parker? I didn’t know she was running for office! I’d vote for her in a nanosecond.
(Only criticism I have of the vid. is that Allen West’s name was misspelled. I’ll allow that small mistake.)

Dave’s Quote of the Day

“Everyone knows that the entire apparatus of the security line is a national homage to political correctness. Nowhere do more people meekly acquiesce to more useless inconvenience and needless indignity for less purpose. Wizened seniors strain to untie their shoes; beltless salesmen struggle comically to hold up their pants; 3-year olds scream while being searched insanely for explosives-when everyone, everyone knows none of these people is a threat to anyone.”

Let’s Take Notes, Shall We?

This clip is a Marine ripping into a Congressman. As I watch the crowd, as I hear the Marine’s voice and passion, and as my heart breaks with worry, yet beems with pride…I realize as I view more and more people who speak out that we are not alone. http://www.libertyjuice.com/2010/08/27/marine-rips-into-congressman/

As for another voice…I know some don’t care for Glenn Beck. I ask, though, for everyone to dvr or watch him all this week. The facts, not just from what he says, but what can be researched, is eye opening and quite frankly, frightening unless we do something about what shall come. Economists state that food inflation shall sky rocket come 2011. I’m not sure how we can all form a liveable budget if milk is nearly $25 a gallon or some God forsaken thing.

I don’t want to speak for Beck’s research, for no matter what is said, there are those that think Glenn Beck is a lunatic simply attempting to promote his books and place fear within the “misguided”. Research what is being said, to those skeptics out there, and to Beck’s trusting listeners. He’s asked for every one of his viewers to reach out to the circles of friends, family, and even our strangers to watch what his team has investigated for this week.

I’m doing my part, if only a small role, to help wise us up and save our country. I’ve never been one for conspiracy theories or wanting to believe that our precious, priviledged American way of life is on a last leg.

People…please. This progressive movement, of which I have been a sleeping giant to, is going to kill our finances, our securities, our way of life, and our entire American culture as we know it. The Republicans in the house majority have a lot of work to do. Real work, real actions, real plans! Republicans…don’t give us any lip service, or you will be blamed for all of the failures to come…that’s how the picture will be formed.

Hats off to this Marine. Hats off to people like Glenn Beck shouting a voice to be listened to. Whether you view for entertainment or information, for God’s sakes, watch his show this week and let’s at least take some notes to learn from.

Over-protectionism, or… You really do need a passport to come down here.

Welcome to the deep south. That’s right. Where the hospitality flows and nothing is ever negative, it’s just ‘special’, or ‘lovely’. (“What do you think of this?” … “Oh, isn’t that lovely, dear.”)

Being the parent of three extremely extroverted kids, I often find myself struggling with the idea of being over-protective. Yes, that’s right, I’m the one who won’t let the kids go out and play in the street unsupervised even though my parents did it. I’m the one who makes sure that they are strapped into the all but bulletproof car seats in the safest cars with the bulletproof glass and tinted windows. I’m the one who won’t let the kids get into the back of the truck to ride down to the pond even though I recall falling out of the truck several times as a kid. (“Mom, I fell out of granddad’s truck on the way to the pond. It hurt.” “Oh, isn’t that lovely, dear?”)

Most days I endure the comments. “Oh, I understand why you won’t let your kids come over to spend the night. It’s fine, no really.. it’s lovely.”

Then there are days where I come to work and my colleague says “hey did you hear about..”, and suddenly I am justified. Yes, welcome to the deep south, where rolling just isn’t how they roll anymore.

I hilite the “yea””s for a reason. Wannna guess what it is? OK, I’ll give one clue. Democrats passed this thing 51-12. Without one single Republican needing to vote, they passed it. The military didn’t like it, the gay community didn’t like it, no one liked it. The Democrat controlled House, the Democrat controlled Senate, and the Democrat President rammed it through anyway. According to Clinton, it wasn’t perfect, but it was a start. Media pretty much ignored “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” for a while until it became expedient. Over time, it became purely a Republican issue as the Republicans did exactly as the Democrats did years before and effectively ignored it. The media bias culminated itself this year when Lady Gaga chastised Republicans for talking about filibustering the bill that would eliminate Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell:
http://abcnews.go.com/assets/player/walt2.6/flash/SFP_Walt.swf

“I will not stop calling until I reach them to tell them to vote with Sen. Harry Reid to end John McCain’s ‘shameless filibuster,’” she said.

She then calls two Democrats who refuse to take her call. There was no filibuster, Harry Reid never sent it to the floor. The gays returned to attacking the hell out of Republicans only even though the Democrats once again had all the votes they needed to pass the legislation to end it. All the while, no one was mentioning the fact that a lawsuit was working it’s way through the legal system to undo what Bill Clinton and the Democrats did in 1993. It wasn’t filed by Lady Gaga. It wasn’t filed by any Democrat. It was filed by the Log Cabin Republicans. And then a weird thing happened. They won. Republicans, who controlled nothing in DC, did what Harry Reid refused to do. They ended “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”. The Obama administration thought about it for a couple of days. And, knowing how the gays felt about DADT, had this to offer:

WASHINGTON — After two days of silence, the Obama administration urged a federal judge on Thursday to let the military press on with its “don’t ask, don’t tell” ban on gays serving openly in the military. Still, President Barack Obama insisted the policy that has divided the nation for two decades “will end on my watch.”

The Pentagon said the military “will of course obey the law” and halt enforcement while the case is still in question. But gay rights advocates cautioned gay service members to avoid revealing their sexuality in the meantime.

A federal judge abruptly threw out the Clinton-era ban on Tuesday, setting in motion a legal, political and human-rights back-and-forth that put the administration on the spot just two weeks before crucial midterm elections. Obama has consistently argued against the ban, approved by Congress in 1993. But he says it is up to Congress to repeal it.

The policy, summed up as “don’t ask, don’t tell,” refers to guidance that gay or lesbian Americans can serve in the military but not openly. Their superiors are forbidden to ask about sexual orientation, but service members can be thrown out or denied enlistment if they talk about being gay or let it be known that they engage in homosexual acts.

Obama’s Justice Department asked U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips to stay her ruling that overturned the ban while the government prepares a formal appeal. Asking the judge for a response by Monday – “given the urgency and gravity of the issues” – the government said that suddenly ending the ban would be disruptive and “irreparably harm the public interest in a strong and effective military.”

Obama, challenged Thursday at a town hall meeting by a Howard University faculty member who questioned his “alleged commitment to equality for all Americans, gay and straight,” said his stance has not wavered. He can’t end the ban with the stroke of a pen, he said, but “we’re going to end this policy.”

You read that right. The Obama Administration is asking for a delay in the ruling so the Obama Administration can prepare an appeal to the ruling. They wanna fight it. So, even though the Democrats wrote DADT, passed DADT, have ruled over DADT for nine of the seventeen years it’s been existance, refused to vote to end DADT, and now are fighting legally to keep DADT, I bet you good money there won’t be a single liberal gay person come out and point their finger where the problem is, has been, and continues to be. If they do, I’d love to see their comments here. The reason DADT has survived all these years considering no one seems to like it is because the Democrats know they won’t be held accountable for it so no need to antagonize their moderate to conservative base, and the Republicans know that no matter what they do they won’t get any credit so they have no reason to antagonize their base either. When media and gays become less partisan and more objective then maybe they’ll get what they want.

Until then, they’ll have to keep relying on the Republicans. It’s a core issue with Republicans in a way most people don’t really think about. In expecting the government to protect a minority, the government has to do it in a way that is equitable to all people affected by the minority. Sometimes that doesn’t necessarily work to the minority’s advantage. By NOT recognizing the minority as a minority, it removes the issue of being a minority and allows the issues that affect that minority to be addressed. There is no reason to protect gays in the military. They are already protected by our Constitution. What needs to be protected are the rights gays have as US citizens. When that occurs, gays will have all the same rights as anyone else in the military and I am quite sure that would make everyone happy. Repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell therefore is kind of moot to me. What needs to happen is all references to discriminating on the basis of sexual preferance need to be eliminated. I really don’t buy the argument that it would be disruptive to the military at all. Obama may want you to believe that, but I don’t.

Cyberwar: Round 1 Goes To The West…

Gregg Keizer and Richi Jennings writing over at Computerworld have noted the negative impact on Iran’s nuclear program of a raging Stuxnet infection. (Perhaps Helena, MT’s progressive superintendent needs to move to Iran where they’re more tolerant of unpopular mandated lessons–but about computer security–not teaching little kids about sex!)

More than a decade ago think tankers began seriously considering cyberwar. (see the Wikipedia entry here.) Sci-fi authors have been bantering about it since the 60s and probably even earlier. One might even go so far as to argue that Orwell’s Big Brother is more akin to the ubiquitous, massively parallel information-based societies of America, Japan, S. Korea, Germany, France, Canada, Great Britain, and many others, including tiny Israel, than to any group of secret human spies. When I was building an Army website in 2005 I suggested the need for a DoD branch dedicated to information security (beyond the charter of the NSA). The Pentagon finally created Cyber Command this May.

Constitutionality, Christianity, Progressivism And The Captive Poor

I wrote this in an email the other day and everyone told me to publish it, so here it is with very minimal editing.

We, the people, must recognize that our two major parties have been co-opted at their highest levels. They no longer prove themselves to support the Constitution. Instead they advance agendas that should deeply concern anyone who understands what our constitution says and why.

John Adams once said, “Our constitution is only fit for a moral and religious people. It is wholly unsuited to the governance of any other kind” because the Constitution contained no controls over those who would reject morality and decency in favor of hedonism and self-indulgence. It also contains no controls, talis qualis, that are, or ever would be, strong enough to defeat progressivism which seeks to ignore it (or for that matter Sharia law which would supplant it). Only the vigilance of a stubborn and well-informed citizenry can do that!

Sex Education, Social Engineering, Progressive Politics And The Rainbow Agenda

I personally home schooled my daughter through 7th grade and my son through 6th. She is positioned to be the valedictorian of her school next year and hopes to go into law or medicine. As an 11th grader, she claims to be the ONLY virgin she knows of in her entire high school (of over 1000 students). Her 8th grade brother is an honor student taking both regular and advanced classes despite profound dyslexia. He, too, is proud to be a virgin. Referring to his classmates, he says “most of them” are sexually active. What difference did an abstinence-based (home schooling) curriculum make in their lives? I believe it made all the difference! By far the best place to give children a healthy understanding of the proper role of sex in their lives is in their own homes.

Helena Sex Ed Curriculum (barely) Revised…

Helena, MT (ConClub) – The Helena School District’s feeble attempts to quell widespread public opposition to teaching a gay activist/liberal/progressive sex-ed program beginning in kindergarten and including homosexuality from the outset, represent too little in the way of real, substantive change. Thus, they have categorically failed to impress what turned out to be a small army of local critics here. A well attended meeting hosted by Helena Youth Advocates (HYA), a grassroots organization comprised largely of concerned parents was held at the Public Library this evening. As well as vocal parents, it appeared to include opposition activists, politicians and even one teacher (who wishes to remain anonymous for obvious reasons).

Free Speech, Hate Crimes, Bold Truth and Cunning Lies

WARNING AND DISCLAIMER: This post may make some people angry. The thoughts and comments expressed are mine alone and do not necessarily reflect the consensus opinion at ConstitutionClub.org.

Today USA Today ran, “Is burning Quran a hate crime or a free speech issue?” When Terry Jones’s church decided to burn the Koran, I believe they felt moved to express a bold truth. On the other hand, by “protecting” the Judeo-Christian Bible (even as it denounces, denies and contradicts it), Islam institutionally propagates the craftiest of deceptions. In Eden, the serpent, being more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made, said, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” Did he actually lie? No, he manipulated and deceived Adam and Eve into believing a tiny falsehood about God: That God was withholding his best from them. The Enemy planted and cultivated a subtle fear, feeding the tiniest bit of pride by asking an inflammatory question.

Going further, the successful deceiver next indoctrinates the deceived using a succession of increasingly outlandish lies. This was perhaps best noted by Adolph Hitler who said, “By means of shrewd lies, unremittingly repeated, it is possible to make people believe that heaven is hell and hell heaven. The greater the lie, the more readily it will be believed.” This progression leads to the downfall of nations, cultures and societies. It tends to accelerate most under powerfully charismatic people appealing to our selfish natures. This may be physical gratification, our personal rights, greed, justice, and self-righteousness. It decelerates under successful messages encouraging self-sacrifice and unconditional love.

Obama supports the 911 Mosque

“As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country,”

“That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances,” he said. “This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable.”

There has to be someone out there who is surprised by this. 2 in 10 New Yorkers polled supported the idea of the Cordoba House. 73% of all polled opposed it. Blacks, whites, males, females, latinos, you name it, they opposed it. So, as usual, Obama disregards the will of the majority to assert a moral opinion that he has some special insight that 73% of the people don’t. That the same funding mechanism and values that supported killing 3,000 innocent New Yorkers should be accepted by those victims simply because it was done in the name of religion.

Clue here Obama, there’s a bunch of New Yorkers who I don’t think are going to be very tolerant. I don’t expect them to be. A good portion of that religion has declared holy wars on the citizens of the United States. Some people take that seriously.

Others think they can talk their way out of it.

Side note, I’m going to bet this headline alone costs the Democrats 10 more elections. The rap on Obama was he would be weak on defense. The very day an aggressive Islamic nation announces they are going nuclear, Obama sells out New York City to Bin Laden. We are pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan and tossing in Manhatten to boot. I would hope it would be a lot bigger number than 10, but some people just can’t vote anything but Democrat.

Now THIS is the kind of leadership we need

I’ve been a fan of Col. Allen West’s ever since I heard his CPAC speech earlier this year, and subsequent speeches/interviews.

He’s a plain-speaking (like Sarah Palin, I might add), no-nonsense common sense American. (I left out “conservative”, because I know how that offends some of you.)

He is infinitely qualified to serve as a congressman, governor, and eventually POTUS. Frankly, I’d trust him 100x more as POTUS than Obama, and some other Republican candidates for that matter.
West “gets” our Constitution and what it means to be an American.
If you agree, send him a donation for Florida’s 22nd district. With luck, we may see him for a long time to come.

Listen here.

The Race Card Is Maxed Out

I’m not a fan of Jon Stewart (but I think he’s less of a boor than Bill Maher and in general is more entertaining) but every now and then he surprises me with a satirical gem aimed at the left.

Heck, if Jon gets it (and more importantly brings attention to it), that can’t be good for the other team.

Gay Marriage – Forgive Me, But What is the Problem Here?

Yes, yes, I know. I am most likely going to be blasted for riding the fence on this one.

I am a conservative Republican. I believe in lower taxes, securing our borders, and protecting our country and our Constitutional rights. I support our troops and take pride in the foundation America was built. I own guns, and I know how to aim…accurately. I want our country to thrive, I want our economic hardships to cease. I want my kids to enjoy a solid future and not owe the government for the entirety of their lives. I want Reagan to be reincarnated, dang it.

I don’t think a mosque should be built near ground zero, for the love of God, no. Not unless the planning committee behind it is willing to build within the mosque a cathedral, a temple, and a chapel to show pure diversity and offer THAT message…but I digress.

As for gay and lesbian marriage. What is wrong with it? Really.

OK, yes… this may be over-the-top…

…. but Mr. Mo and I are planning on being well out of the D.C. Metro area by 2011, for several reasons.

What really bothers me is that I’m not the paranoid type, but I see the path this country is going down and unless we seriously reverse it, we’re headed for this.

Selfishly, I’d like to think it happens well after 2017.

Is Explaining Natural Moral Law Hate Speech?

Illinois professor fired for giving Catholic teaching on homosexuality

The University of Illinois has fired an adjunct professor for teaching in a class on Catholicism that homosexual acts violate natural moral law.

Dr. Kenneth Howell was informed that he could no longer teach in the university’s department of religion. The decision came after a student complained that Howell’s statements were “hate speech.”

They fired a Catholic for teaching Catholic beliefs in a Catholic class? Political correctness saps the common sense right out of society and culture. It is not hate speech to proclaim the Biblical and Christian stand that homosexuality is wrong and an abomination. A sin against both God and nature. You may disagree with that stand, but that is no more hateful than saying sleeping with the girl at work is wrong, or stealing that bike out of the neighbor’s garage is wrong, or disrespecting your parents is wrong. The Truth is no respecter of persons and is not bound by your cultural whims or the fact that you start to squirm when sin is called sin. Moral depravity has become the taboo subject in a society which is now governed by the short-sighted moral guidance of “do what thou wilt. Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we may die.”

Quite an Experience in Liberal Land

So upon enhancing my college education by embarking on obtaining a B.A. and M.A. in Social Psychology, I recently took a required Humanities course. I must be getting old or simply holding true to my morals and values within my conservative ways with a bit too much arrogance and strife, for my professor announced to the class she felt my views of politics and Obama and today’s culture of violence were “extreme”. Let me describe my experience within such class I have just finished and might you find my views as she?

Through the Eyes of a Child

Being a mother of three children, I realize as each day passes that my kids speak from their truth as to how they see the world. You would think such images to a small child would be that of ice cream cones and playing in the parks, most especially during the summer months they are out of school. Most days are so, yet there are those moments that you realize children see darkness no matter how the spin of light is placed upon them.

My seven-year-old daughter watches images on the tv screen each evening. As we watched the news last night, she noted the oil spill continuing to spout up into the ocean. “Is that hole STILL not plugged up mama?! How come they built that oil thing but didn’t figure out what to do if it broke?” Very good question.

Flying drones to make sure illegals get paid fairly?

This is indicative of the complete chaos coming out of the Obama administration at this time. And, given liberal philosophy, it won’t stop.

The Obama Department of Labor just spent your money to put together an advertising campaign letting illegal workers know they have rights to minimum wage standards. In Spanish.

They don’t have one in French. Guess Ms. Solis isn’t too worried about French Canadians being taken advantage of. That could never, ever, ever, be considered racial profiling would it?

Obama’s EPA Approved candle

Hey all. I’m, glad to be here. I don’t normally post an awful lot. I’ll kick it off with an observation that I think is the perfect example of what exactly Obama has in mind for our future. I stumbled across this on a clandestine mission a few days ago:

Obama's EPA approved candle

Not to be confused with a jar of blood, it’s a candle. It’s wax. It’s only wax. There is no wick. It does not burn. It does not emit light. It is a zero-carbon footprint candle. Now, I was assured this was most likely a screwed up attempt at a real candle, but I know better. I’m much too fast to pass that test. This is some company’s shot at the federal candle market. It fits perfectly into the EPA’s new no-carbon standards. Now, although I have no factory, I will offer anyone who wishes to have the Obama EPA approved candle for $19.99. Sure, it’s a little pricey for a candle, but in order to meet EPA’s new no-carbon standards, extra effort has to be made to remove the wick. Not sure how much shipping and handling will be as I’m not sure any shippers can meet the new no-carbon standards yet. But, somehow, for some cost, I will get it to you. Promise. I’ll bill you for whatever I want to charge after you get it.

Ways Violence and Nonviolence Affects my Daily Life

“I hear people say we don’t need this war. I say there are some things worth fighting for. What about our freedom and this piece of ground? We didn’t get to keep them by backing down. They say we don’t realize the mess we’re getting in but before you start your preaching let me ask you this, my friend. Have you forgotten how it felt that day to see your homeland under fire and our people blown away? Have you forgotten when those towers fell we had neighbors still inside going through a living hell? You say we shouldn’t worry about Bin Laden. Have you forgotten?”

These song lyrics by Daryl Worley are pretty powerful. When listening to his song it takes me back to that fateful day in 2001 staring through tears at the television images while I cuddled and nursed my two-week old son. I had just given birth to my second child and was on maternity leave from my police force I served for nearly ten years. Violence in my world was constant and brutal. Yet, the September 11 television images of our country being attacked were nothing in comparison to what I investigated as a police detective.

9.11.01. That was the day that changed me internally. It changed me politically, as a parent, as a woman, and as an American.

Our obsession with race (and dolls) continues

In the 1940s, the nation was captivated by a seemingly groundbreaking experiment by sociologists Kenneth and Mamie Clark. If you have seen the movie Separate But Equal ( Sidney Poitier as Thurgood Marshall) you undoubtedly remember the powerful scene. The Clarks asked black children about two dolls, one white and one black. The majority — 63 percent of them — said they’d rather play with the white doll. Most said the white doll was nicer than the black doll and in the most poignant answer of all, 44 percent of the black children said the white doll looked most like them.

Hello, My Name is…

Four score and 285 days ago (give or take a few), our nation elected someone they thought they knew. Today, not so much – but not to worry. All (or at least some of it, digitally enhanced and re-packaged to fit the format of your screen) will be revealed, when he gets a chance to re-introduce himself to the American public. GOP calls for Harry Reid to step down over remarks

Part of me says that a Republican offensive is just what the doctor ordered in response to Harry Reid’s goofy comments regarding then candidate Obama. That part of me wants to get back at the Dems for the scores of times that anyone with conservative credentials has been made to feel bad or resign from whatever post they held over remarks that were not cleared by the sensitivity police at various universities.

And then there is part of me that wonders when and if we will ever get over the nonsensical tit-for-tat in racial politics. Needless to say, if Reid were speaking of a candidate from a southern state and said that “he did not have a redneck dialect, unless he wanted to have one” this wouldn’t even be an issue. And isn’t that really the way it should be?

If everytime someone makes heretical statements regarding race, should they be forced to give up a little something in order to atone for that sin? And shouldn’t the Republicans want a very unpopular and vulnerable senator to continue holding his post as majority leader heading into an election cycle? Both he and Pelosi are very good faces to attach to the utter incompetence of the “most ethical Congress in history.”

Which part of me is correct?

Why I miss George Washington

Something about the guy just screamed ‘Don’t mess with me, or my soon to be country’.

Hating the “hate crimes” bill

Obama signs ‘hate-crimes’ bill into law

‘It’s a very sad day for America and for religious liberties

Opponents point to cases in Canada and Sweden, where Christians have faced criminal prosecution for preaching that homosexual behavior is a sin.

“ADF has clearly seen the evidence of where ‘hate crimes’ legislation leads when it has been tried around the world: It paves the way for the criminalization of speech that is not deemed ‘politically correct,’” Stanley explained. “‘Hate crimes’ laws fly in the face of the underlying purpose of the First Amendment, which was designed specifically to protect unpopular speech.”

Just another step down the road of speech and thought control. And a dangerous step towards limiting the free expression of religious beliefs. In a few short years stating that homosexuality is wrong, an abomination and a sin against both God and nature will quickly send you in front of your local ‘human rights commission’ at which you will be asked to atone for your sin of “intolerance and hate” or face severe punishment and public sancton. Those days are coming, mark my words. And by the way, no crime is worse than another because of some peculiar characteristic of the victim. All crime towards an individual is a ‘hate crime’.

Those who preach and who have preached the word of God like my father, my grandfather, my great-grandfather, my step-great grandfather and my great uncle will all eventually be tarred and feathered as ‘intolerant’, hateful and guilty of a thought crime for having shared what the Bible teaches us. Now that’s a shame. They were all kind and loving men who spent their lives helping people. They didn’t hate the sinner. In fact they loved the sinner, but hated the sin. That is what we are instructed to do as Christians. We don’t hate, but we don’t excuse. Pointing out right from wrong is not judging, but merely standing up for what is right.

Obama signs Unconstitutional ‘Hate’ Bill into law

The bill is unconstitutional because it violates the 10th Amendment by granting the Federal Government authority over local and state government in prosecuting hate crimes. It violates the 14th Amendment by granting certain groups special protected status, as well the double jeopardy clause of the 5th amendment. This Bill does not provide equal protection to all Americans and is therefore unconstitutional. It grants special rights to certain groups while making the rest of us 2nd class citizens.

BREAKING NEWS on Global Warming – the proof is here, and it’s not pretty.

These impressive graphs This could be you if you don't change your light bulbs.show indisputable proof of what has happened and continues to happen on the global warming front. I won’t bother quoting the sources or even waste time detailing the pages upon pages of credentials the individual(s) who put these together have, though I will include helpful and impressive looking links for you to explore for yourself. Really it’s because the AP and Reuters want me to keep it short and simple. It is after all on the internet, so deep down you know it’s true.

From 1998 through a projected 2012 (when the world ends), there is a clear correlation between and obvious progression to the data points on this chart. The unexplained spike in 2008 is well, unexplained, but we are working on a few theories – most having to do with the election in the US, but that has yet to be proven with an impressive chart on the internet. Skeptics and critics might say that the data elements on the chart below are conflicting – or worse yet that they represent various and differing things, such as percentages, temperature, number of people, or worse yet – a small renegade group of Republicans. To those skeptics I would say “Your skepticism is unfounded and an outrage. This information is on the internet, you can go and look for yourself. It is undeniable, and this is simply another attempt to hold on to the status quo. It is unacceptable, and your time is over.”

That is one hot graph

Notice the huge dip in 2012. That’s because the world is scheduled to come to an end. It’s true. I read it on the internet and besides there is a movie coming out that has actors and actresses in it. There is so much truth to this that I suspect you just can’t handle the truth.

Sure, while the average temp of the earth, the surrounding air, the oceans, the rivers, the lakes, the streams, the faucet have been declining over the past decade, you cannot escape the evidence presented here in the clearest fashion. It’s so clear a Geico marketing executive could read it. The chart below CLEARLY shows that in 2011 and 2012 (when the world ends) the temperature is going to skyrocket and the earth is going to melt in on itself.

Check out that spike. What more proof do you need?

You MUST act now. IN the very near future we will be offering official Constitution Club Light Bulbs that you MUST buy in order to save the planet. They are $69.99 each – less than the cost of a cup of coffee a day based on a tall caramel latte at Starbucks.

Ok maybe not, but if this gets picked up by Reuters I am going to enjoy it immensely. Wait till you see the graphs I have on Health Care. They will make you sick – and that will be bad. Especially if you don’t have health care.

Kevin Jackson – The Black Sphere

Y’all know how much I love AlfonZO Rachel. He’s been so popular that PJTV signed him up several months ago.
My new favorite conservative blogger who happens to be black is Kevin Jackson.

I totally agree with his take on this latest Rush Limbaugh – NFL smear.

Read the whole thing (not long)

Limbaugh represents all the things that the Left despises. First he is a Conservative and a Republican, so this by definition is a Capitalist. The Left hates Capitalists. You can further confirm that Limbaugh is a Capitalist, because he wants to BUY the Rams, and not have the government GIVE him the Rams, in the form of a bailout, reparations, or otherwise. He prefers to buy low and sell high, which implies improving the team.

A man who has built an empire, and arguably the most successful radio talk show network ever shows interest in your team, and the black players want to paint him as a racist—as if they could actually spot one. Limbaugh is a winner, pure and simple, and an Old School winner at that. Limbaugh has more in common with those black athletes than any owner for which they have played or the white racist Democrats who are always so ready to speak on behalf of blacks.

The black players in the league should take a page from The Dixie Chicks…shut up and play!

Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize.

Sorry Dave but I think I have bested you my friend. This is much more ridiculous than your Wal-mart/Dollar store news brief.

Your messenger’s quote of the day. Or Obama knows nothing about health care! Or how to invalidate your opponents position with snark!

Obama_AARPOK! OK! OK! I am going to be witty here!

By being mistaken Michelle’s husband Barry proves he is a know nothing fool.

At the town hall in Portsmouth, N.H., Obama said, “We have the AARP onboard because they know this is a good deal for our seniors.” He added, “AARP would not be endorsing a bill if it was undermining Medicare.”

But Tom Nelson, AARP’s chief operating officer, said, “Indications that we have endorsed any of the major health care reform bills currently under consideration in Congress are inaccurate.”

This proves his position is just plain wrong. Hey – Do you think this guffaw causing ooops statement might lead to anal and scat jokes about the man on Sadly, No! ?

As my friend Andre said…

Keep up the great work, guy(s).

The Kicker of St. John’s Wood: A Book Review

kicker_coverA rational person in a rational world should be able to say that the premise and storyline of the latest book by author Gary Wolf is silly, ridiculous, and prone to flights of fancy. Unfortunately, in the first decade of the 21st century the subject matter and conjecture found in the pages of The Kicker of St. John’s Wood is not so far-fetched and is indeed instead a remarkably accurate and reflective look at the forces, feelings and mindset of the modern-day Left.

“Under My Bus”

One man’s empathy is another man’s apathy

Shortly after David Souter announced his retirement, we were treated to the legal worldview of President Obama. Far from being an advocate of sound constitutional legal reasoning, Obama indicated he would look for other “qualities” more suited for the legislature than the bench:

“We need somebody who’s got the heart to recognize–the empathy to recognize what it’s like to be a young teenage mom, the empathy to understand what it’s like to be poor or African-American or gay or disabled or old. And that’s the criteria by which I’m going to be selecting my judges.”

Profound.

Can anyone think of a worse way to select someone who will then determine the Constitutionality of law? Better put; where does empathy on the bench fit when the Court decides it’s most recent cases involving identity theft, environmental clean up liability, and juvenile sentencing (this fall)? In a case involving a homeowner, should the empathy lie with the tenant or the landlord? When Obama spouts nonsense about empathy, he is clearly playing to the base that wrongly believes the Supreme Court was created to decide nothing but abortion and civil rights cases. In fact, the staple of the SCOTUS diet is administrative law, bankruptcy, civil procedure, securities regulation and other boring procedural battles that require less empathy and more knowledge.

I have no illusions that Obama will appoint a strict Constitutionalist cut in the mold of Roberts or Alito. But with his nonsensical statement, it is clear that he is likely to appoint someone who is only there to appease the braying masses calling for judicial payback.

But at least they will be empathetic to teenage girls or old people.

So what is the point?

Certain people like to constantly appeal to traits that our founding fathers had. A more effective way to state the point of my post would be: They constantly appeal to traits they believe, or wished our founders had. A good example of this, though not my focus here, is to ascribe devout Protestant Christianity as the core belief system the founders relied upon in designing our republic. This of course is a queer view considering they were children of the enlightenment. But as always I digress.

My specific point here is to wonder how one can write a post glorifying the sacrifices, the real sacrifices suffered as on the field of battle and not in front of a laptop, of patriots and then delete a comment they find irksome. Funny, it was really not that out of line. Controlling comments on a web site, notice I said controlling and not moderating, does not reach the level of government censorship. That still does not take away the irony of pruning verbage one finds irritating within a post dedicated to men who wrested liberty from a controlling monarch. This incongruity is further compounded when the name of the site this post resides on is named after the document that those men used to codify those rights and liberties so they could be preserved.
It bears remembering that there were certain people at the time our constitution was being developed that did not wish speech to be protected in all areas. They lost.

Interestingly Dana Pico over at Common Sense Political Thought just wrote a post documenting how he just recently deleted his first two comments in their entirety. He couldn’t find anything he could salvage due to profanity. Dana’s site gets roughly 10 times the traffic and a great deal more comments. Phooey has been the resident troll over there forever. Dana has never seen fit to delete his posts.

The comment Dave removed mocked Dave and Dave’s post, not America. Of course that is my opinion, others will feel differently. Then again that is the point, isn’t it?

Know thy enemy…

The Origins of Political Correctness

We call it “Political Correctness.” The name originated as something of a joke, literally in a comic strip, and we tend still to think of it as only half-serious. In fact, it’s deadly serious. It is the great disease of our century, the disease that has left tens of millions of people dead in Europe, in Russia, in China, indeed around the world. It is the disease of ideology. PC is not funny. PC is deadly serious.

If we look at it analytically, if we look at it historically, we quickly find out exactly what it is. Political Correctness is cultural Marxism. It is Marxism translated from economic into cultural terms. It is an effort that goes back not to the 1960s and the hippies and the peace movement, but back to World War I. If we compare the basic tenets of Political Correctness with classical Marxism the parallels are very obvious.

Liberalism: The Seductive Temptress

You can listen to this column here.

seductivetemptressblond

The modern political persuasion called Liberalism can be compared to a beautiful, seductive temptress. Alluring and destined to feel good for a while but after a fling with this wily ideology one is left realizing that the intoxicating goddess was more like a cheap prostitute. This seducer of the mind and soul leaves one intellectually and spiritually bankrupt, and infected with a life long hatred of tradition, morals and values. The Liberal or Progressive ideology is definitely a feel good political philosophy. As the Bible so wisely warns us to resist the temptations of the flesh so must we resist the emotional temptation and seduction of modern Liberalism.

They need the wisdom of the Sage

It would appear that my help is needed here. The hopelessly confused and politically correct public school system in this country seems to lack the most basic common sense at times. Fear of “offending” someone becomes indoctrinating children in offensive theologies and ideologies and playing apologetics for European concepts and Western Civilization. When a country insists on turning its back on its own origins and forgets where it comes from only decline will follow.

Twice when I was in school I was asked to help select the next year’s History textbook for that grade. This happened in fifth grade and then again in eighth grade. Two different schools. Two different school districts. One being a private school and one being a public school. In both cases I was given a variety of textbooks to take home and read and then present my selection with a detailed explanation as to why I thought it was the best. In both cases my recommendation was adopted. I was kind of known as a History wiz kid in school so my opinion was valued by the teachers in that regard. It would appear that my help may be needed again.

Public Schools Teach the ABCs of Islam

For instance, did you know that Muslims discovered America? Or that Jerusalem is an Arab city? That’s just some of the “history” that students in America’s K-12 classrooms have been taught in recent years with the help of taxpayer money.

A new report by the non-profit Institute for Jewish and Community Research finds that American high school and elementary textbooks contain countless inaccuracies about Christianity, Judaism, Israel and the Middle East.

The Institute examined 28 of the most widely-used history, geography and social studies textbooks in America. It found at least 500 errors.

Sorry if this is a repeat (I’m a ConClub newbie), but every American should see this, to understand what our Constitution is all about, in a nutshell.

Long John Silver’s Begs CAIR for Forgiveness After Christian Toy Found in Kid’s Meal

“God Forbid.”

Is anyone as tired of the hypersensitivity, the pandering to the “Religion of Peace”, and the political correctness in this country as I am? We have become a nation of cowards who wince at the slightest wisp of “controversy” and buckle at a single complaint. Based on this I would strongly suggest our Islamic friends avoid Chic Fil A at all costs.

They should have sent them a Christmas ham as an apology. It makes you wonder what happens to Christians who make religious complaints in Muslim countries.

CAIR-MN Welcomes Long John Silver’s Apology to Muslim

In addition to a written apology, the company will send the family a gift certificate to any Yum! Brands location and a replacement, non-religious toy for their 3-year-old child.

“We commend Long John Silvers for its prompt and professional handling of this case,” said CAIR-MN Civil Rights Director Taneeza Islam. “This positive outcome highlights both the desire of the company to respond to customer concerns and the inappropriateness of distributing religious material in a commercial setting.”

CAIR, America’s largest Islamic civil liberties and advocacy group has 35 offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

Perhaps an alternative toy for Islamic complainers should be kept stocked for such occasions:

In the name of “fairness” and “equality” eHarmony forced to compromise principles

In our sporadic discussions on gay marriage the conversation seems to always turns to this main point; what should society morally tolerate and why do conservatives care? One of the latest posts on Keith Olbermann and his tearful defense of gay marriage demonstrates this point. In it, Andre ponders: I guess the one thing I still don’t get is why this is so important to people on your side of the aisle. If you really want to protect marriage, where are the bans on no-fault divorce? On the same link, DFV wrongly declares that, “it’s just that with me being the increasingly faith-deprived, secular humanist that I am, I tend to value the collective wisdom of the many over the declamations of the few. Right.

I might have some cause to sympathize with their views if I hadn’t read Michelle Malkin’s piece on the eHarmony shakedown. In case you were unaware, here is what has happened: eHarmony, a Christian based website that caters to those looking for serious relationships has been successfully sued by a gay man named Eric McKinley because they do not provide services for ‘men seeking men.’ Tragic indeed! According to Malkin:

Neil Warren, eHarmony’s founder, is a gentle, grandfatherly businessman who launched his popular dating site to support heterosexual marriage. A “Focus on the Family” author with a divinity degree, Warren encourages healthy, lasting unions between men and women of all faiths, mixed faiths, or no faith at all.

This is the classic case of the oppressed (McKinley and all other gay people) vs. the oppressors (eHarmony and Warren). Except in this case, McKinley is far from oppressed and has plenty of other dating web site options. In a story by USA Today, we learn that McKinley had gotten his little feelings hurt when he discovered that eHarmony had no options for men to meet men on their website. When McKinley saw that only straight couples could meet on eHarmony he found it “very frustrating… very humiliating to think that other people can do it and I can’t.”

But what the militant wing of the gay community will never publicly acknowledge is that they probably have more options for dating than the average Christian single person. Match.com and other lesser known sites have included men looking for men for years. But militant gays aren’t happy with having only some options available to them – they want all options available to them. Regardless of who owns the sites (or businesses), and regardless of what religious affiliation that site (or business) might have, every knee shall bow to the gay agenda or face discriminatory charges. For the Left, its all about creating a new agenda, not introducing and arranging marriages for couples in the name of love. Moreover, the tactics of the Left are not only anti-choice, but anti-free market. Militant gays most certainly could have launched a gay web site to compete with eHarmony. But instead, they go to court in an attempt to change social behavior. They opt not for competition but political and judicial coersion.

This is all the same twisted logic that has infected our classrooms, playgrounds, athletic fields, and now our businesses and halls of Congress. At the heart of the issue is that there are things that necessarily exclude some people. The response is then to attempt to make those things inclusive through the courts or through legislation, or to shut them down entirely. The Left will use the ‘fairness doctrine’ in this same nefarious way. Even though the Left already has liberal talk radio via taxpayer funded N.P.R. and the awesome “Air America” network, which has proven unable to attract the advertising dollars necessary to pay staff salaries, they want to tell the rest of America’s radio station owners what can and cannot be aired based on political ideology. It’s not that they will then listen to the stations; it’s just that they want to control the stations.

In the end, all of the discussions about the humanity, the love, the legalities of gay marriage ring hollow. When Andre wonders why conservatives even care and when DFV harps about the consensus of European society, the true objections I have are that these things are simply a means to an end. They are power plays designed to completely transform our society into a socialist wasteland where citizens and businesses kneel at the altar of secularism. After the settlement was announced (eHarmony has to pay New Jersey $50,000 and McKinley $5,000) McKinley called it “fabulous” and said he was happy with the outcome. In fact, he was so excited that he is “considering signing up for the new site once it launches.” So after all of the litigation, all of the cost, all of the discrimmination and all of the ”humiliation” (McKinley words) that has now been solved, McKinley might use the site.

But it never was about using the site at all. They just wanted to know they could.

Dave’s Quote of the Day

Regarding the Pledge of Allegiance at the Democratic National Convention.

Hmmm, I see they’re using Navajo Code Talkers. I suppose they reasoned that a Boy Scout troop would be booed and that a Democrat would hesitate to trash a minority group.

What do you want to bet that the Pledge of Allegiance will be on a big teleprompter?

NYT REJECTS MCCAIN’S EDITORIAL; SHOULD ‘MIRROR’ OBAMA

When you dare to attack the postions of THE MESSIAH or point out that, indeed, the Emperor wears no clothes these kinds of things are bound to happen. I’m kind of surprised that the New York Times didn’t just outright ask John McCain to withdraw from the race and endore Barack Obama.

The NYT Rejects and then Lectures John McCain

An editorial written by Republican presidential hopeful McCain has been rejected by the NEW YORK TIMES — less than a week after the paper published an essay written by Obama, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Drudge goes on to publish the full McCain editorial in it’s original form and we will do so as well. Read the rest of this entry

The pitiful path of Multiculturalism

Schoolboys punished with detention for refusing to kneel in class and pray to Allah

Two schoolboys were given detention after refusing to kneel down and ‘pray to Allah’ during a religious education lesson.

Parents were outraged that the two boys from year seven (11 to 12-year-olds) were punished for not wanting to take part in the practical demonstration of how Allah is worshipped.

They said forcing their children to take part in the exercise at Alsager High School, near Stoke-on-Trent – which included wearing Muslim headgear – was a breach of their human rights.

It is sometimes sad to have to sit and watch the slow disintegration of Western Civilization. The country that once set out to make the rest of the world “British” is now coercively teaching its children Islam while fretting about whether flying the English flag is somehow “racist”. How far they have fallen as the sun sets on the once mighty British Empire.

Can you imagine the uproar if the Pakistanis in the UK were forced to attend mass or partake in Holy Communion? There would be riots in the streets and the cabal of Leftists and Liberal apologists would be crying for blood and revenge while screaming tyranny and oppression with all their might.

If a similar situation were to happen to my children, that teacher would be ruing the day she made that mistake. Here is the gobbly gook, PC doublespeak reaction to the incident from the school.

“The headteacher David Black contacted this authority immediately complaints were received.

“Enquiries are being made into the circumstances as a matter of urgency and all parents will be informed accordingly.

“Educating children in the beliefs of different faith is part of the diversity curriculum on the basis that knowledge is essential to understanding.

“We accept that such teaching is to be conducted with some sense of sensitivity.”

Jane Elliott and her Blue-Eyed Devil Children

Have you ever wondered how the modern day Maoist philosophies of ‘Multiculturalism, Diversity, Tolerance and Political Correctness’ originated and managed to gain such a foothold in our society? FrontPageMagazine provides a great window into the origins of ‘Diversity training’ and the rampant white guilt ideology it produced. Be sure to read the whole thing.

In diversity role-playing, whites are guilty until proven innocent – and of course, they will never get to prove it. Its role-playing exercises are far removed from experiments observing behavior in an authoritarian environment, a la Stanley Milgram and Philip Zimbardo.[xiii] There, participation was voluntary, conducted under tightly controlled settings, and did not proceed from assumptions about collective guilt. By contrast, diversity training, Jane Elliott-style, requires that everyone participate and confess.

Jane Elliott’s vision is being realized. To say that the blue eyes/brown eyes exercise is “kid stuff” is true enough. But more to the point, its role-playing reduces adults to the level of children — fearful, whimpering and apologetic for nonexistent offenses. Far from combating white resentment of nonwhites, such “training” actually creates it. School multicultural programs, Thomas Sowell observes, has produced “mounting evidence of increasing (italics author’s) animosities among students of different backgrounds.”[xiv] Apparently, that’s also true in the adult world. In Britain, where Elliott is virtually lionized by multiculturalists, a former government diversity specialist explained the effects of diversity training:[xv]

You cannot over-estimate the damage to race relations that “diversity awareness” training is causing in this country. It’s having the opposite effect to that intended, causing divisions, resentment, and an increase in judgments based on race, where previously such things were actually quite rare. How do I know this? I was involved in putting together a diversity “toolkit” for a government department, and saw first-hand the effect it had as it was rammed down the throats of staff.

If Jane Elliott and her diversity minions are going to be defeated, more people like this, here and abroad, are going to have to speak out, and at whatever risk to their careers.
